This is a comparison, but not 100% accurate. I had to edit the left image to roughly look like the way its saving.
The design on the right is how I designed it and the one on the left is how it is saving. Ive tried JPEGs and TIFFs and get the same result.
All of the colors I see in Corel are always viewed in RGB even if I choose a CMYK value, Its been like that since we upgraded to X8 from X6. I also work with Windows 10 OS with BootCamp on a Mac (dont know how much that matters)
How can I fix this? Is there a Color Management Setting I can use? How can I view Correct Colors while working so that I dont run into colors issues at the end?
It appears that you may have changed document defaults, open a new document using your new presets for cold management. Under tool options document check to save document settings as default. his may resolve the issue.
I dont know what you mean by "check to save document settings." I thought checking the box labeled "Save options as defaults for new documents" was it but I still have the same issue.
It seemed to work for a little while yesterday but its back to turning my color management settings off. And actually it is continuously unchecking the box I mentioned.
Have you tried just picking a CorelDRAW default press setup?
What is that?
under the tools menu color management there are application presets.
Yes thats the first thing I did. I set it to "North America General Purpose" and then I saved my own version, as you said at the beginning. Then I checked the "Save options as defaults for new documents" box under: Tools/options/document.
None of these changes are saved and they get turned off or unchecked seemingly at random. Sometimes I can go all day without color issues and other days I have to change the color settings for every document and job I work on.
Wow that's damned odd! I've never seen that. What are your system specs? Can you share a CDR file please?
I assume we're still talking the MAC with Windows running on boot camp?
Yeah its a real pain!
And yes Its still a MAC running Windows through Bootcamp. I can share a CDR file but idk what youre looking for or how that would make much difference. What Im experiencing should just be contained within the CorelDraw settings, right?
Before hand I just colored everything with RGB colors which was fine for digital proofs and screen printing. But for jobs we send out they have to be CMYK to get accurate colors. Id prefer to just work in CMYK all the time so that Im not worrying about accurate colors whenever those non screen print jobs come up.
this is not the best image but I have an issue of PDFs saving washed out. even with all of my settings active, the blacks turn to grays. The above image is a PDF and the image below is in the Corel Doccument. The difference is slightly worse than this picture shows.
What you're doing using as MAC and boot camp makes it hard to diagnose because I stopped supporting MAC's well over a decade ago. I can tell you that I have never seen this error except in your post. I would suggest uninstalling CD cleaning out all install folders and then reinstalling CD to a NON DEFAULT installation folder but with you using the MAC that's a shot in the dark, on the PC side CorelDRAW color management is state of the art and I have not seen any technical issues.
If it was my decision I wouldnt use a MAC, its just what Im stuck with for now. So far it seems to be keeping the settings after I clicked on a separate "Save settings as default" under Tools. I failed to see this before. but if it continues I will uninstall and reinstall.
Thanks for all your help!
