Hello,
How do you export text for the web (Facebook profile) so that it's not blurry?
I'm not very swift, I guess. I didn't think it would be difficult. I read that it has to be a minimum of 180 px.
Does it make a difference what my rendering resolution is set at on the set up page?
Sorry for my ignorance.
Thanks for any advice.
Text on the web should be html text, not an image. Can't you type it in?
Hi, Bob,
No, I can't type it in. It's for a person who has a text logo, and wants to use this as their Facebook profile picture, as well as other social media sites. I've never done anything with html text before, so after reading your comment, I went into Draw and tried to do as you say, by reading the Corel help. I'm obviously not doing it right, because after typing in the text as paragraph text, as the help says, when I export it to html, the facebook page tells me it's too small. It needs to be at least 180 pixels wide, which I'm doing, so I don't get it why Facebook says it's not.
Sorry for my incompetence. I hope you can shed some light.
Thanks, Bob,
Lynda
Hi LyndaS
Resolution on the web is irrelevant, just h x w in pixels. I am guessing you are making it a smaller size and Facebook is making it larger thus weak.
Not for the web but for quality in creation I set up the exact size of the image I need or am creating at 300dpi for print quality text. Then optimize the image for the web.
That should work. Although I use 300dpi for the creation side the dpi does not matter on the web.
Sure sounds like a size thing. Try rolling over the existing image and right click then left click on view image details. See the size up there now and match it.
Hi, Bob.I'm not really getting it right. I also have 300 dpi set for the creation side of things. I type in my text, which is just two words, as paragraph text, which is what I read in the Corel help files. I export it to html. Then, I go to Facebook, to update the profile picture, and then it always tells me that the image has to be at least 180 px. Is there any way you can actually walk me through it, step by step? I don't know what I'm missing.
Thanks so much.
Hi LyndaS,
And there is your issue, do not export to html.
I don't know what version you are using but: Export for the web which then gives you the opportunity to choose file like jpg or png or gif and to optimize your image of choice and then save as an image format such as jpg or png if you want transparency. Just think image at the exact height and width in pixels that you need. Should work well.
Exporting to html creates a webpage and a bad one at that.
Hi, Bob.
I was finally able to get what I needed,, but it wasn't easy. Thanks so much for all of your help!
Glad to here it worked out for you<G>
