One thing should be kept in mind here - we can always mask off areas of an image before even attempting to replace colours using any method, and this dramatically helps to reduce/eliminate our chances of changing colours of things in the image we do not wish to change. There is no question though that the job you did on the apple would be extremely difficult to achieve in PP and would require serious complex masking and blending. It would be an obvious waste of time.
Thanks for posting the example with the apple, Jeff, I am very impressed with this tool now.
Best regards,Brian.
Dudes I'm on an install and having to work, SUCKS but I'll check it out over the holiday. This week is hell with a sleigh.
I too, love and use that free plugin' quite often. Very nifty.
Now I understand that this is a silly/down & dirty alternative.............that doesn't always work as you need it to.
But for some conversions, especially when I only need to show a customer some quick color choices, I just use the Hue, Saturation, Lightness slider, right in Draw.
Fast & easy.
I love it when people battle with different techniques!

My color replacer doesn't work as a grayscale. It's all or nothing. and I have it setup similar. Any Ideas? Mines all blocky.
Edit: Screen cap of what mine is looking like.
