Corel, at one time offered a free macro to use in CorelDraw that simulated an embroidery effect. I lost mine in a computer crash and was wondering if someone would like to share another copy with me, or point me in the right direction as I can't seem to find it anywhere.
What exactly did it do? (Just asking because Os's has just written a macro that helps to do zig-zag stitching round a path.)
It has been so long but it goes like this from what I can remember...
It was a macro that took a vector dwg from corel and applied a simulated stitch pattern to it (can't remember just how but I think it turn it into a bitmap the end). It was a good tool for creating mock-up patches. I understand that it is included on the CorelDraw X3 DVD by Graphics Unleashed. Buuut we have not upgraded to that yet.
Like Gerard says, I believe that you can run this as a stand-alone program, but I've never tried.
Mine is happily staying attached to my X3 toolbar. It's a fantastic little Macro. Thank you, Drawstitch.

Hi, anyone remember the name of that program that came free with X3 that could make an embroidery simulation from a vector file, I know I have it somewhere on the old computer backup, think it was Draw wings or similar. Thank's in advance. Found it, the name is EmbroideryEffect, and it was a free DL to all X3 users, now I just have to figure out how to install it to be awailable from inside X3? With a regular install it is not, Jersey Girl, I know you know the answer, please help Me.Thank You Finn Virkman
The original version was a plugin for Draw while later versions are a stand-alone application, so depending on where/when you got the installer you might have the stand-alone version.
Hope it helps
Andy
Thanks Andrew, remember that now, but how can i tell if i got the right version? And where will it show up inside X3, think it was under effects, no?I have two files
EmbroideryEffect.exe from 2008and DrawingsEmbroideryEffectESD.exe from 2009Non of them will install to show up inside X3
If you install the Plugin instead of Stanalone version, it would reside under the EFFECT menu. Please see picture here.
