How do I make a footnote in Ventura 10 occupy a column width rather than a page width

I am trying to insert footnotes into a document which has a page layout with two columns.

The footnote frame occupies the whole page. How do I adjust it so that it only occupies a column width?

    Select the footnote frame.

Right-click on it, and choose Frame Properties... at the bottom of the context menu.

    Choose the Columns tab.

Set your column number and click the Apply button.

    • Thanks for the reply. I can't make that work.

What I want is to be able to adjust the size of the frame so that, for example, it only occupies the left column and text can fl;ow to the bottom of the left column.

But the frame properties does not allow this. Size and position are blanked out.

  • Use chapter properties.
