Archiving old .vp files in PDF

Hi,

we just started an archiving project and have some VP .vp files. Noone has an old VP version on start. So my question, is it possible to convert such .vp files to pdf? Tried to use a VP8 trial for this purpose, installed it on XP and started. The result: "check lock failure". Can anyone help?
