Whilst running the Trial Version of Designer X6 I briefly tried XVL Studio.
I do not have any 3D Drawings available to use so XVL Studio was opened from the Start Panel. To locate suitable Drawings to view I searched for 'Samples' and chose to open a Drawing of an Impact Driver.
Next up was to load some of my DXF Files, but none of them would load.
Please note that I am not seeing the opportunity to Import any type of File, the options for me are as shown in the attachment.
Although I have no thoughts about using XVL Studio your post lead me to revisit the that Program now that my Technical Pack has been Registered.
Once again I was unable to open any DXF Files, although in Open > Files of Type Drop-down List DXF is listed.
You are absolutely correct Franco.
The attachment shows what I should have been seeing had the correct procedures been followed. Armed with the proper set up I once again tried to Import DXF Files.
Clicking on Import > Geometry File... > Files of Type Drop-down List offers DXF as a possible File Type. However once again none of my DXF Files could be Imported.
As I said my fleeting visits, and lack of interest in XVL Studio have not enabled me to offer any resolutions, but wanted to let you know that you are not alone in experiencing this problem.
DWG and DXF files should be loaded in XVL Studio 3D Corel Edition with the "Open..." command.
"Import" is for adding other 3D source files to an existing (loaded) 3D model to merge them.
Can you attach a sample DXF/DWG file so that we can try loading it into XVL Studio 3D Corel Edition?
Best regards,Klaus.
I have been unable to Open any of my DXF Files in XVL Studio, and all those existing are too large to attach here. Previously these DXF Files have been used satisfactorily in various Programs and/or Applications. The attached DXF File is just a very small set of drawing objects saved as DXF, the content had to be reduced in dimensions to beat the Forum limit of 256kB.
Many of my existing DXF Drawings return a message to the effect that they contain invalid items. Most messages simply inform that the DXF File cannot be opened.
As my DXF Files open satisfactorily in Corel DESIGNER X6 it is highly unlikely that I will be attempting to use XVL Studio 3D Corel Edition in the near future.
Hi Guys,
Thank your for your answers. I tried to open my dwg and dxf file in the way Klaus suggested. Unfortunately I was given the same error messages all cases even if I tried different kind file format. I attempted with the followings: Autocad 2013/2010 dwg, Autocad 2010 dwg LT, Autocad 2013/2010 dxf, Autocad 2010 dxf LT.
I attached 2 files, 1 dwg and 1 dxf for checking. All drawings containing the same two primitive solid objects as you can see on the picture below. (1 box and 1 sphere ) All of my files were made AUTOCAD 2013 program.

Thanks for the update Franco.
At last the penny has dropped, my requirements are to handle 2D DXF Files for non CAD manipulation. I am very pleased to hear you have resolved your problem.
