Here's the scenario:
I have a block of paragraph text, it needs to stay paragraph text, fully justified because it will probably be changed many times by my customer.I need to scale it, and all other graphics on the page, vertically only, to around 95% of it's original size.I need the text to end up "squished".
CorelDraw X3 will scale the paragraph frame, but not the text. With the frame smaller, some of the text will disappear, falling out of the frame.
Illustrator (which I do not like) does not do this. If you scale the frame the text is in, the text scales with it appearing to be, as I said, "squished".If I change it to artistic text in CorelDraw, and then have changes (I always do), the text does not fit correctly into the area alloted for it, and the justification looks weird. Is there any way to get the text within the PARAGRAPH text frame to scale a certain percentage?Thanks,-Rob
A workaround to proportionally scale a Paragraph Text frame, the text inside and other objects:
EDIT: Check Ronny's post below to do it the right way.
I don't know how to stretch a Paragraph Text.

Ronny Axelsson said:Paragraph text was probably never intended for these kinds of "artistic" adjustments when it was introduced (that's why we have Artistic text)
Ronny Axelsson said:and I'm sure there are plenty of font geeks out there who will say "you should never distort a font anyway".
So, how is the little workaround in my previous post?

Tip of the day:As has been mentioned, it is possible to scale frame and text by holding Alt while dragging a corner handle of the bounding box.Doing this when text is in a group or when other objects are selected with the text, causes non-proportional scaling (holding Alt while dragging any other object, except Paragraph text, is a way to scale non-proportionally). This is avoided by selecting the Paragraph text last, or in case they are grouped (and you don't want or can ungroup) create another Paragraph text temporarily and select it last.

Thanks Ronny.
