Hello!
I almost bought Corel 2018 and then I thought - hey best to try trial first! I am glad I did.
other than being very slow,
I am puzzled about how the interface has this awful font, it is blurry and whatnot.
I have disabled cleartype in Windows because I hated it. I am of one of the group with eyes that will not work with Microsoft's cleartype. (I have too good color sight I guess and I have astigmatism) so cleartype give me headache and strained eyes.
Now, Corel 2018 seems to have some kind of strange effect with the fonts.
I have set the fonts in Windows (version 7) to use Tahoma which is friendly for my eyes.
But it looks like corel is ignoring system font. Boo! (disrespectful to people with special needs)
What can I do to get Corel to honor my choices set in Windows system and use fonts from that? And not try to make its own?
If this is not resolved I will stay with X8.
Picture show 2018 and Notepad. Note that Notepad honor Windows settings with the fonts and rendering (look at the menu item text on NotePad - Good there). But Corel2018 go its own way and you can see how awful it looks.
also please do not tell me to make font larger. I do not want to do that because it would make my workflow bad and it would steal much space.
Self employed or hobbyist level. (both)
Just wondering, I found it hard to believe that a person employed by someone woud have so much time to dedicate to such endeavors.
Time to work out a good working environment for everyone? I hope so. If not, then it is a bad workplace.
If I understand you correct what you meant.
If you are indeed thinking of making better workplace for people with special needs. If it is so, then you are coming out being a little bit of abrasive.
But really this doesn't belong here in this forum?
I'm a business owner who pays his people very well and if they want to come to me with a concept of writing a macro or customizing a default on my systems I have no issue with that., however since I pay for it the rule is as long as I approve it first. If the employee spends $300 of my money developing a macro or a feature I need to see that I'll have a $1,500 return on just that feature before I'll approve it. On this and other forums I see a great deal of posting about macros and other customizations. Users and especially new users need to understand that in the real world of commercial work they'll need to justify a return on that investment. Self employed people are spending their own money and I expect that they already know this or are already bankrupt.
I do not see how macro writing applies to my request?
Maybe you are replying to wrong thread?
I was talking about change setting of CorelDraw. And I found the solution in the ini file.
I have a diametrically opposed point of view. The time dedicated to R&D in a company is probably one of the best investments. In our company we usually spend time (hours or sometimes whole days) in finding the solution to a problem. It is not always relative to a program, sometimes it is about being more efficient or avoiding mistakes in the future.
