In CD 8, after drawing a 2 point line, I could deselect by simply clicking on an open document space. Now I have to use the ESC key. Is there a way of going back to simple deselecting by clicking somewhere on the document? This has become a definite hindrance in the 2018 upgrade. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Not any way that I'm aware of, but the Escape key seems to do the job. Please tell us why it is so important to be able to deselect directly after drawing, and why Esc isn't good enough.I mean, as soon as you do anything else, it will be deselected anyway. Just curious. :-)By the way, this automatic deselecting seems to have disappeared somewhere between version X6 and 2017.
Thanks Ronny for your speedy reply. I do O scale modeling primarily using the 2 point line tool which requires deselecting before continuing in that I primarily don't want the new line segment linked to the previous line, which it is when you begin a new line from the previous line's node. Before I could click on an open area, deselect the line and keep on going. Most of my line drawings needs to be not linked for future manipulation. Many times, to get complicated models accurate such as an electrical power line tower, lines need to remain not linked for revision purposes.
I've been searching for an answer to this issue since I upgraded. So, I appreciate you giving me a definitive answer. I'll just deal with it. I love Coreldraw and have recommended to several colleagues. Many thanks, Ronny
