I just did a Win 10 Pro upgrade (from Win 7 Pro) and everything appears to have gone smoothly.
However, when working in Coreldraw, I noticed that objects and nodes are not self locating and "snapping" together.I rely on this featureI believe this is the "snap to object" feature...and I have checked within Options/Customizations, that this feature is on, active, all things selected.
The quick turn on/off command from within the program is Alt+Z...which does not fix it.Alt+Z also appears to be a Win 10 command...I get screen record/stream options appear on the screen when I press it.
So, has Win10 killed the snap to feature? is it related to the Alt+Z command? or what is going on?
Actually Alt+Z might be a command related to my Radeon (Graphics Card), and not a Win10 feature.
But the question remains, why has the Snap To feature gone and why cant I turn it on?
Please, if anyone has any ideas how to fix this?
I rely heavily on the snap-to-object feature, and I have been unable to get any work done today.
I have done a Repair from the disc...and then completely uninstalled and reinstalled Corel, because it didn't fix it.
After the new install, I had partial snap-to working! but not everything was working correctly. For example, I could create a box...stretch it to align with another box, and I was able to snap to the edge. But I couldn't put my cursor on a box corner, snap to it, and draw a new box outwards from that node.
And then, for no apparent reason, all snap-to functions disappeared again! (still working in the same file)
I've checked all settings again, and all is as it should be (that I can tell)
I need to know if there is a compatibility issue with Win 10.If so, I can revert to Win 7.

Are you using a workspace with any customization, or based on an older workspace that you imported?
If so, have you tried running using a completely fresh, default workspace?
as I said, I did a full uninstall and reinstall. While I do make some Options adjustments, I don't have a saved workspace that I implement (I don't think so anyway). The only changes I make are to the default measurements (metric), RGB as default colour, a 2 column Colour Palette and the colour of masking overlay.
I don't modify any tools, or remove anything from the tool bars.
In the meantime...the snap-to-object feature has returned...at least it returned partially...then went off again...and now its functioning again!.I worked on a project last night and I was able to snap-to objects properly...and it kept working...so my fingers are crossed that the program somehow had to catch up (after I turned the feature off and on a few times)?
I haven't changed my my Radeon (graphics) software since upgrading to Win 10, but I am noticing serious glitches in World of Warships (game), so I will be looking into updating that if possible. Obviously an issue with my graphics card will affect Corel. Terrible thing is, the game also went through a big update yesterday - bad timing!...so those graphics glitches may be caused by something within the game itself.
I fired up corel this morning, first time today, and the snap-to-object control is gone again!
...opened a project I was working on yesterday (when snap-to was last working for me) and it didn't work.after opening, closing, turning snap-to on and off a few times, changing the options for snap-to a few times,it eventually started working again...although not completely.
I can slide one object up to another, and it will locate the sides (they snap-to).I can snap-to the corners of two objects.
But the snap-to used to be very reactive....you could almost feel it. Get an object too close to another, and it snapped to it!Sometimes it could even be frustrating to position two objects closely and not have them snap together. Now all you sense is a gently lock of the two objects once they touch or overlap.
Also, I used to be able to draw a line, snapping the start point of the line to a node or existing line. This way you could quickly draw a line from any existing point. This isn't working...the end of the new line will snap-to (weakly) a line or node, but not the starting point.
