Hi, I'm trying to import a PDF (from the U.S. patent office), but every time I try to import, Corel Draw 2019 hard crashes. Closes the program. I've tried 5 times, tried rebooting my PC, etc.. but nothing helps. I've attached the PDF. I'm importing as "text" and "comments on separate layer"
PDF
Is this file createdcrecently? Does it have security?
Yes, without security. We print out a PDF for the orders and import it to the Corel file.I do have SP3 installed. I tried Primo PDF, it works with 2017 without any problems, Foxit and MS Print to PDF. With all, after import, Corel is just hanging. CPU is on 20%.
I was waiting a couple of minutes, then I killed the task.
This is just a print out from this thread / Firefox V70.0.1. Can't import.
The other apps may be just rastetizing the content. When I get stuck I use Acrobat and republish to PDF.
Yes, maybe. But it was working for the last 5 years...I have to update X7 for 15 employees since all screens now have 4k. Is there a free pdf printer from Acrobat? Can't find it.
Are you saying that a file you imported 5 years ago no longer imports?
Or are you saying a client you have had for 5 years sent a new file that 2019 will not import?
Or the client sent a new file that imports into X7 but not 2019?
Oh sorry, ... I work with PDF import daily for the last 5 years. That had worked well with Corel X7 and 2017 not more with 2019.
Ok I get it. Can you please share an offending file please?
Sure. When I import the attached document, Corel 2019 stops working.PDF
Hey guys,
Files open fine in Adobe AcrobatReader DCDocuments Properties shows:PDF Producer: ImageMagick 6.6.0-1 2010-03-04 Q8 http://www.imagemagick.orgPDF version: 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x)
There seems to be corruption with a/some embedded fonts which other programs seem to ignore but CorelDRAW barf on a null pointer.
Is it not true that CorelDRAW X7 opens the file. I have tried that and CorelDRAW crash in all versions.
I managed to open the file in Abode, update the text to Times New Roman so it is the same as before and now the file opens fine as curved in CorelDRAW, except for the graphic at the end.
Yes, FWIW, I think the crashes are somehow related to embedded vs. substituted fonts. For instance, your sample PDF file imported OK into my Corel 2019, but other PDF files crash.
I can import this PDF in Corel 2017, but not in 2019.
Tom,
I have no problem opening the new PDF I have attached previously in CorelDRAW 2019.
