My company just recently updated (saying "upgraded" would imply that what i have now is better) and now whenever I save a file regardless of if I created it or not it will remove the permissions for the other designers that I work with. In order to let them access the file to change or separate the file I must manually go in to the file properties and add "everyone" in the security tab. I have contacted Corel support about this and for the past 2 weeks they haven't given me anything that has worked so I figured I would open it up to the community to see if anyone has any ideas.
Potential fixes corel has given me:
1. It is some sort of "network issue"
-My networking seems to be working fine. The only program that does this is CorelDRAW 2019. Saving things in CorelDRAW 2017 works fine still and my co-workers can open the files.
2. Make sure you are saving it in the correct folder and make sure permissions are shared with everyone
-Felt a little insulted by this one honestly
3. Run the CorelDRAW as admin
-Doing this will result in an error "there was a problem sending the command to the program" and my files wont open.
4. Then I got this....
-"I am sorry to let you know that if you have not run the application as admin you are facing this issue with your operating system since your OS would have been damaged please contact your local technician for the inspection of stability of your OS."
After I told them that it still isn't working they had me run WinAudit and moved me on to "Level 2 support" where I pretty much have had to start all over...
TLDR: Saving a file in CorelDRAW 2019 removes "everyone" from my permissions and wont let anyone else on my network open my files. I am open to any suggestions if any one has ideas on what could be the problem.
Wow so weird, I checked and all my 2019 CDR files have a security setting that is inherited from the root of the drive on which they are stored. Which is good as this is controlled by the Windows operating system.
If you create a new save a 2017 file and save it to a folder. Then create a new 2019 file and save it to the same folder as you did the 2017 file ,can others then open both the 2017 and 2019 file?
Has a fix been provided for this yet? I'm having the exact same problem.
Not sure if it is fixed in 2019, as I am quickly moving on from Corel Draw and Painter do to my lack of confidence lately in their pricing and release quality.I had a quick scan of the patch release notes for 2019 and didn’t see it, try installing all three updates and let us know. The not so bright side is I haven’t had it happen to me in 2020, however, it will only cost you $500.00 for the fix.
As documented is this post, NO FIX FOR 2019, fixed in 2020.
Thanks David,I don’t find much interest in digging through these useless forums, the way it forks conversation is well, useless. Not surprised they didn’t fix it, I ran it for an hour an uninstalled it. IMO, 2020 isn't much better...
2020 is a 20% service pack for 2019. I run 2018 and augment PDF output for complex fills and complex transparency in 2020.
The PDF output in 2019 and 2020 support improperly created complex fountain fills and layered transparency forvthe PDF RIPs.
It's the only thing of any value in those 2 releases.

Yes, for me, the new FX features drive my use of it.Among other bugs/poor behaviors my biggest complaint is the refresh issues, mainly with the object manager. It drives me crazy when you have a tool selected and then select another object and it doesn’t move the focus to the newly selected object, instead you need to refresh it manually, even worse is when it gets so confused and doesn’t release the previously selected object, I have found that when it does this selecting the pic tool and clicking the objects again will release the stuck selections. It’s like so in your face that I would have guessed a fix for it by now, either they can’t figure out how to fix it without major work, or it’s not important.

I have a number of macros that create new shapes. Even though the macros invoke a "Refresh" after creating the content, the Objects docker in 2019 and 2020 does not update - at least, not at that time - to show the newly-created content.
Eventually, some other action will cause the Objects docker to show the new objects.
Not cool at all!
