Hi friends,
I have been a Corel Draw user since Corel Draw 3, and over the years I have put up with some bad versions, that's why I only bought the Odd Number versions up until now!
I am having so much trouble with un-stable multi page layouts and total crashes. I have loaded in all the CD Patches and updates and they have made no difference at all.
Where is our Colour Button on the left hand toolbox toolbar, it used to be above the Pen Outline Colour.
I have a 800mm tall single page layout, with No Special Effects just plain text and a few solid colours and I tried yesterday to move some text around and tidy up the layout, and each time I tried it totally crashed, so I had to do it in Photoshop 2019.
I also had another bug, each time i typed a certain word it would automatically be replaced with another word, i tried changing the word in Writing Tools Quick Correct, but that hasn't worked either.
I still have Corel Draw X5 and to be honest that seems faster and more stable than the new CD19 and Don't get me started on effects in CD19 it just doesn't happen.
Sorry guys to drop in on you like this and have a whinge but I have suffered in silence enough and at the moment I am actually out of patience and seriously considering asking for my money back for the first time EVER since I've owned Corel Draw 3 and Its not cheap in New Zealand I can tell you that.
Is any one else having stability troubles and bugs and I mean just in general use with CD 19?
I was really looking forward to CD19 because I thought that it would be a very professional Design suite now, because of the number of years the programmers have had to really iron out the bugs.
But i am really disappointed to say that I don't feel that it has progressed all that far when compared to what else is on the market, without mentioning names. I have read a lot of your forum posts and I am seeing a lot of bug issues as well.
I honestly think I will go back to CD 15 even though that still has a few bugs.
Which CD Version do you guys feel is the most stable to use?
Thanks every one for your time and I look forward to seeing your replies.
All the best.
Cheers Kev

You would think, but it's the opposite really.
YES, it is as BAD as you are experiencing.
There are some users here who "claim" it works fine without the problems you are experiencing.
Corel will also blame it in your PC or something in it. Or a wonderful solution is to create a WHOLE NEW WINDOWS USER ACCOUNT!!!! Uh yeah, NOPE!!!!
I would get your money back.
Also, Corel is killing off the usual upgrade DEC 1, 2019. So you don't have much choice but to purchase current work in progress v2019 last upgrade, then on top of that their Upgrade Protection so you can get v2020 and HOPE whatever was LEFT UNFIXED in v2019 will be in v2020... and continue this on until you decide to stop.
Yes, v2019 REALLY is that BAD. BUGGIEST version EVER... and yes, crashes quite frequently or just disappears! Without updates, update 1 and update 2 the most. Update 3, helped some, but this version is NOT FOR PRIMETIME, but primetime to screw you over.
I really infuriates me how there are these few people out there that say that it's all unicorns and rainbow in terms of Corel performance and stability. It's as if they have nothing else to do in life but sit out here on these forums and tell you that you are an idiot if Corel doesn't work for you like it does for them.
Corel has always been buggy, and I have learned to work around them, but now it "seems" buggier than ever. But there is other software out there (other than Adobe) and I just don't have the patience to deal with Corel's crap anymore. I only use it when I have to, and when I have to I am holding my breath the whole time just waiting for the crash.
I ways have hope that the next version will be better, but after all of these year of hoping and being constantly disapointed you would think I would have learned my lesson.
I'm running the latest build of CDR 2019 on my work desktop and still find it to be unstable. And it's unstable in unpredictable ways. I've had new documents with not much going on it yet suddenly hang. Then the whole program window just disappears. Having a prior version of CorelDRAW installed (and saving files down to that earlier version) is pretty much a necessity.
I'm running 2018 as the mainstay but work in 2019 when I can for testing and to use the advanced PDF output.
I have zero crashes. Asus main board, Samsung 1TB SSD, 64 GB RAM, NVidia GTX 1060 6GB video card, Western Digital 3 TB black secondary drive and Windows 10 Pro. Running 30 bit color, ViewSonic VP 2785-4K, display.
Current 2019 file example full scale, 80' high x 50' wide 8 pages with various sign mockups, channel letters with drop shadows, 30 letters with logo and other graphics.
Congratulations on having zero crashes. But your experience does not translate to mine at all. It does not make the crashes I absolutely am seeing vanish. Others are having problems as well. So obviously there is indeed problems with CorelDRAW 2019. Bragging how your system doesn't crash is not helpful at all.

Curious.
Do you have a prior version installed with v2019 on the same machine?
Reason I ask, and may help or may not, is when I first tried v2019 was a TRIAL version (maybe Update 1 and Update 2? cannot remember) installed along with my v2017 (with all updates).
That Trial would CRASH incessantly!
So purchased some v2019 license upgrades & upgrade protections (due to the THREAT of upgrades ending even though the TIRAL proved itself garbage).
I uninstalled v2017 on another workstation and did a thorough cleaning with CCleaner.
Installed this new v2019. Updated completely to Update 3, rebuilt the font manager library.
So far so good without crashing. But then again I have a LOT of daily work, so I don't use the workstation with v2019 Update 3 much as X7 and v2017 work fine until ready to move them all over...which will probably be to v2020 when that hopefully proves itself. YES, GREAT FEAR of moving ahead... v2019 really burned me.
SO ALL THAT BEING SAID... I almost wonder if having a prior version other along with v2019 installed... "may" be part of the problem of crashing??? again..."maybe"... and really I think it's because of having different FONT MANAGERS of Corel (being old Font Navigator or the new Font Managers?) installed and functioning at the same time on the same machine???? Almost seems they would conflict...and also with the Windows 10 OS font system on top of it all? That's just my findings.
So let's wait for David Milisock response saying he has prior versions also installed and multiple Font Managers (from Corel) installed also along side CorelDraw v2019 with Update 3 and NO CRASHES?
I only have CFM 2018 and 20219 installed. I do however configure both CD 2018 and 2019 to ONLY use system and installed fonts. I also turn off the use font to display font name.
With that said I never use CFM 2018, I only browse fonts and install fonts with 2019, the last installed version. I also only install type 1 fonts (as a last resort) and only through the Windows font manager.
As far as multiple versions on one system, thecrelease of 2019 is the first version that has forced me to do that in many years.
With that said I NEVER install to the default folder in this case c:\coreldraw2018\corel\xxxxx and c:\coreldraw2019\corel\xxxxxx.
It is my opinion that this eliminates somecregistry issues.
BTW all Windows and CorelDRAW updates.
Thank you.
I really wonder if using other prior Corel Font Managers other than the CFM 2019 is causing these crashes for others?
They may want to further evaluate that.
So far a CorelDraw v2019 with Update 3 (ONLY version on the workstation, no other CorelDraw versions of font managers) seems not to be crashing...but I really need to put it through it's paces.
Not to say that v2019 isn't without fault...it's got PLENTY of major bugs in it which Corel really owes EVERYONE an Update 4 to correct those major bugs before calling it quits on v2019 and releasing v2020 wiht it's whole set of new bugs.
