Hi everyone,
I'm running CorelDraw 22.1.1.523 on a MacBook Pro 2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 and it's slow and sluggish.
If I look at the Activity Monitor I can see a process called InterprocessController whose parent process is CorelDraw 2020 running high.
Has anyone seen this before
thanks in advance
Marcus

It's the system used to communicate between threads, in short. What is the actual installed memory?
HiI'm running a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i58 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
I thought it was a problem with my Sophos AV application and CorelDraw. Sophos support looked at the log files and reported"Based on the log files the CorelDraw 2020 program is updating continuously when it is open"I've excluded CorelDraw from my Sophos AV on access scanning, but no difference. Thanks
Are you on a wireless network?
yes
I was wondering because on the PC side I had issues with a Toshiba laptop. In the end it was because of a lousy wireless, (not bad as faulty) just not a very good wireless. I spent $15 on a USB wireless and the problem went away.
After trying to install wireless support for Apple at a few cat dealerships I became aware how poor Apple wireless can be.
Thanks, the wireless on the MacBook is fine. Quick and constant.
This is about as well documented by Apple as the "hardware reserved memory" is by Microsoft. Sluggish performance is subjective. Do you have another Apple computer that you can do a comparison with?
These issues are easier to sort out if you have a computer shop full of parts you can swap out. If you did the first thing to swap out is the memory modules. They can be a source of unpredictable performance issues. And that can impact only some programs because of the memory space that is used and errors being in that memory space. And this happens. at least under windows, in ways that can't be detected by the usual forms of memory checking.
Are you running an SSD or a standard hard drive? If you are not using an SSD then you definitely should be.
Then consider that Draw is GPU enabled. What's the GPU in that computer?
Memory management is mostly handled by the OS and the compiler used to generate the software.
I'd start with swapping the RAM and see if there is any difference. That's an easy thing to do then you can eliminate that as being the cause. Sounds extreme but all other efforts will be for nothing if that is the actual issue.
While testing I found that if I turn off the auto switching of GPU in my macOS preferences and basically force my machine to always use the Radeon Pro then there is a significant performance boost and both Draw and Photo Paint start to work as expected. My conclusion is that the option inside Draw/PhotoPaint to use GPU is either broken or not using the correct GPU at hand.

% of CPU 169.06 What does that even mean? Does a 4 core CPU contain 400%?
Try what is said here...

And contact support. support@mail.corel.com
If there is an issues with Corel's Mac software then they would have had other people mention it. Frankly, I suspect all they know is that F2 calls up the magnifying glass. They don't have a great track record of helping anyone and from my current experience, their responses are more limited than a hologram of Dr Alfred Lanning! But you should give them a go AND TELL US HOW GOOD THEY ARE.
Years ago Corel had a policy of no comments by staff in the forum. That may or may not be current. I think it is because we pick on them. :) Maybe it is because we do a decent job of helping people out and they can't hack the competition.
In any case you should try support. They might have a Mac guru that can put his/her finger on the problem fast. If you want say "Yani says your responses are more limited than a hologram of Dr Alfred Lanning! And that I'd learn nothing from contacting support". That might upset them enough that they make a solid effort to look into this.
