I'm 3rd party IT Support for a company and they've got CorelDRAW 2022 on 2 computers. When opening a file (of any size), where it be 9mb or 400mb, everything is lightning quick. There's no performance issues at all, but within about 30 seconds to 2 minutes, it gets laggy and jittery. They have CorelDRAW 2020 on a weaker PC and it does not happen on this PC.The specs of the 2 computers are as follows:Ryzen 7 2700X8GB RamGTX 1650 128GB NVMe SSDThe older computer is identical but has a GT 710. I'm very confused as I've double checked everything on the computer and it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. Hardware Acceleration is on, the GPU is set to be used, the settings in CorelDRAW are set to use the GPU for everything it should, I've set the power options to high performance, memory is sitting at about 70%. The only thing I can think of is that the SSDs have about 5% of their space left. Would this cause the performance degradation?Any answers as to why could be very helpful so I can report back to them and help, as I've exhausted all the options I'm familiar with.
Insufficient system, I would avoid anything AMD, I use IntelnI9 withn64 GB RAM and a true NVidia card and 2TB Samsung SSD.
Is there a specific issue Corel has with AMD CPUs? They're perfectly fine for everything else, and have been since the start of Ryzen. It's an 8 core CPU. Task manager shows about 5 or 10% usage on Corel, so the CPU shouldn't be causing performance issues. It works fine on Corel 2020. We build systems with Ryzen due to them being cheaper and usually better performing than their intel counterparts. Not had any issues with another company who has Corel with Ryzen CPUs either.
Also to add onto this, Corel themselves specify anything from an i3 to an i9, or from a ryzen 3 to a ryzen Threadripper. It's a Ryzen 7 so I don't see why this would be the issue.
I've been documenting system issues with CorelDRAW for decades. The funny thing is there's no 100% positive prediction as my wife has an AMD that works OK with Draw. With that said AMD systems and graphic cards along with Xeon processor systems log the most system complaints on the forum. The Corel system specscare a joke.
That makes sense. I think older AMD processors are definitely flawed (Athlon, FX etc) but Ryzen are usually solid. AMD GPUs I think would definitely have issues, they tend to have bad drivers for production. I have an AMD GPU at home, one of the new ones from 2020, but I wouldn't touch production with it.The GPUs in the current system are Nvidia GTX 1650s. I think based on what you're saying with Intel Xeon's having issues could mean that single core speeds on CPUs might be a factor? Although CorelDRAW 2020 performs perfect on the Ryzen 7 2700x
I don't exactly know why because as I've said there are some AMD systems that do well or ok at least. People here reporting, report because of problems so we don't hear from people running the Ryzen or Xeon systems that have good experiences with CorelDRAW.
What I know for sure is the AMD systems, Ryzen or not report a higher percentage of system errors and no one can explain why. The same thing for systems with Xeon processors, I will say that most systems reporting with the Xeon processor is, that those reporting either have a low end or very high end graphics card. The Ryzen systems are all over the road. I will also say that for years there have been issues with CorelDRAW and licensed versions of NVidia graphics cards.
I intently watched the Joe Christina and Lynus Tech Tips YouTube sites when they were configuring Ryzen systems for video, gaming and graphics and both sites reported problems. Both sites are tech support/gaming/video editing and graphics sites.
It took Lynus 3 weeks to resolve their issues and moved on to other videos. Joe Christina had issues for 3 months and resolved most of them but at last report a month or so ago for video rendering he still had a performance issue with Resolve.
I wish someone would figure it out. WhatcI do is build powerful Intel systems usually about 1 generation older than current release.
What Ryzen issues we're these? I regurlarly watch Linus and I don't recall them having any issues. Like I've previously stated, I work in IT and we use Ryzen for the systems we build and have had absolutely zero issues from hundreds of other customers. I doubt it's a CPU issue. I don't know what you mean by licensed versions of Nvidia cards either? Do you mean aftermarket cards? As fir video rendering, if he's using a CPU for video rendering then he's going to have problems with intel or AMD CPUs, video rendering is usually done on a GPU. If it was an AMD GPU then yes, there would be problems since AMD GPUs aren't very good for production.Could you link the videos? The only one from Linus saying they had problems with Ryzen was Ryzen 7000, just saying it was disappointing or that the temperatures were a problem.
