I always save PDF files with the page size defined by selected objects which has always worked fine in all previous versions of CorelDRAW.Always used a custom preset where I choose the page size by using the "defined by selected objects" as opposed to "defined by document" - shown below
This works fine if the objects are selected first, then I click on "export to pdf" and the pdf page size will be based on the selected objects.Shown below are the objects which you can see are over the page area in corel, then what I get in the resulting pdf.
The problem arises when I don't select any objects and then click "export to pdf" - on all previous version this would still result in the page size defined by selected objects anyway, on the export dialog box this is still visible (greyed out but still selected), now the pdf file will be based on the page size in CorelDRAWI'm assuming this is a new bug in CorelDRAW 2024?I know that if I select the objects this will work correctly but it's hard to break a daily workflow habit built up over years...
Thank you for looking :)
Let me get this right, with objects selected, publish to PDF with 'set page size to selected objects' works as expected? but using your preset with no objects selected Draw defaults to the defined page?
TBH thats what I'd expect to happen if I went ahead with no objects selected. What would you logically like to Draw to do when you tell it to set the page to 'selected objects' but then don't select any? I suppose a popup saying 'select some objects' might have been better.
In 2018 trying to print with nothing selected greys out 'set page to selected objects', but I don't have a preset defined for what you do. And thats exactly what I'd expect to happen, it reverts to default settings when nothing is selected.
Sorry, it sounds a bit complicated. I expect it's like David said - most probably a fix to a previous bug.If you want to see exactly how it works for me, the preset made is very simple: I selected some objects, clicked "publish to pdf", clicked on "settings", under "general" I highlight "selection" in the "export range" and "defined by selected objects" in the "page size", then click on the plus symbol to save it as a new preset.
