Is anyone else having issues with CorelDraw 2019 Fountain Fills?
Never had this issues until upgrading from CorelDRAW 2017 to CorelDRAW 2019.
If I choose to change the fill of an object, the drop down menu in properties under fill will be blank or the fills will display and when I selected do not apply to the object.
There are only two ways I can get it to work again. Either draw a new object and then and the select fills, choose desired fill, then use the attribute eyedropper to copy the fill and paste to the original object I wanted to change. This method works 1 out of 20 times and if I am playing with colors until I get the desire look it can take forever. The only other way I know how to fix this issue is, saving my work, closing the program and restarting CorelDraw. This works but will only until I choose a different object that requires a fill and then I am back to square one.
I am having this issue with both my desktop and laptop. My file are locally stored, not in a cloud. What the heck is going on and how come I'm the only one having this issue or bringing it up?
My fountain fills are located in... Documents\Corel\Corel Content\Fills
I'm with you, I thought by buying 2019 it would keep me from buying a subscription to use the different fills. I wish I would have stayed with 2017, then I would have all the different colors, vectors and gradients. I have been playing with the Connect browser which you can use files that could be used as a vector or bitmap. But I still miss the different colors for the gradients.
In 2019, there are some collections of content that are available for free. Look in "Get More", accessible from the Welcome Screen.
Thank you Eskimo, I have downloaded any of the fills and more that was free. I am not sure if you had been using Corel back a couple years back but there was a really big selection to choose from.
I have used Corel for a long time. Happy New Year and thank you for the info.
2018 made a big change from "always go on-line to look for assets" to emphasizing management of locally-stored assets. Some users upgrading from older versions will not be aware of the downloadable collections, so I mentioned them.
I have also used Corel for a long time. I agree with you that, for some types of content, newer versions offer less. Some users have expressed disappointment about that.
In this thread, I posted a document that has the fountain fill presets from X5:
Where are Fountain Fill Presets in CorelDRAW 2018?.
I added that as a courtesy for someone who was missing their old fills after upgrading to a newer version.
After you mentioned "where are the fountain fill presets? I had purchased 2017 with a CD and it had all the extra goodies. I didn't buy 2018. My new computer doesn't have a DVD drive but my laptop does. I may have to check that out and transfer over if I can. Thanks!!
