hi i was just wondering if there is a tool in corel draw where you can select one line segment, then choose distance between to make an identical line fit to the original one, example when making tribal because i find it difficult to trace close to the curve its never quite right an not looking that professional. thanks
if I understand you correctly, this feature was aded on X5, it's an extra eyedropper that capture size, transformations, etc
oh just my luck, thanks tho. ill have to pick up the latest corel draw.
you can use the trial version right now and decide if it's what you need
Have you tried the contour tool? That's available in X4 and it will draw one or more lines around the edge of an object -- either inside or outside the edge.
Not that it defaults to drawing inside the object, which will frequently produce an error message if the object is too small to allow the specified number of inside steps. So change it to outside before experimenting.
noicee, yeah i use contour all the time, i just never thought of it just figure out the distance, 1 step, then break contour apart so i can still shape it.thanks man i think that should work!
Cumberson, but you could duplicate the object, then use the Shape tool to add nodes were you wish to "cut" the curve. Break the nodes, Break the whole object of curve apart thus seperating the line segment. Please excuse the sloppiness of some curved section, I am still workng one handed, the wrong one.
thanks guys, ill try both methods out. appreciate the help!
