Simple 3D Object

How can I draw a simple 3D object like below?

In the basic shapes, there is only cylinder...

Thanks!

  • Hi MT,

Draw is not really a 3D program, but for basic 3D objects it is fine. I created my attached image using the Extrude Tool, as follows:

    1. I drew a long narrow rectangle with the Rectangle Tool & gave it a fill
    2. Using the Shape Tool I rounded the corners of the rectange
    3. I dragged out some depth using the Extrude Tool
    4. Played around with each of the following Property Bar settings for the Extrude Tool:
    • Depth setting
    • Extrude Rotation
    • Extrude Color
    • Extrude Bevel
    • Extrude Lighting

I am only a basic level user of Draw (although an advanced user of PP), so others may chime in with much better solutions than mine.

    Best regards,
    Brian.

Tried with those settings but could not get the same result.... >_<

            Hi MT,

thanks for your kind words. When I created that image I was really working out how to do it myself, lol. Once created I exported it to a bitmap and did not bother to save the Draw file. As soon as I get a chance I will make it again and jot down the exact settings I use to let you know. I will also save the Draw file so you can look at it and look at the Property Bar settings.

            Best regards,
            Brian.

            • Thank you in advance !

              • Hi MT,

I have attached a CorelDraw X5 file for you which contains a short tutorial with all of the settings I used in my new image. Naturally, settings will vary from image to image depending on rotation, bevel width, fill, lighting, etc. requirements. The image in the tutorial is not identical to the first image I posted, but was created using all the same steps.

                Best regards,
                Brian.
