Hi everyone. I am new to corel and I have the Corel Draw X5 and I can not power clip a picture. I clicked on the bezier tool and traced the image. I went to power clip and when I clicked on the line I just made with the black arrow it says , the object I selected is invalid. Any ideas. Fred
Check if you can apply a uniform fill to the bezier curve. If you can't do that, it may not be a closed curve.
Hi Harry, thanks for the reply. I did the uniform fill after using the bezier tool and it worked. It filled with the color I choose. But when I try to use the power clip it still says " the object you selected is invalid"
Hello fred; It does sound like the drawing is not closed. ( If you have fill open objects selectrd in setup uncheck it. ) then go back and try to fill it with a color if it does not fill you have a open node. That's the only thing I can think of.
My Thoughts George
No George, open path also can be used as a Powerclip container. Fred, have you tried resetting DRAW workspace ? Keep F8 key pressed while launching the app. till you get a message. Click yes to reset.

Anand, what will happen if I do this? I just pressed F8 and a window poped up and says, " Are you sure you want to overwrite the current work space with the factory default? . Is this ok?
I just pushed the work space default reset and the same thing happens. I can not power clip. I took a picture from online used the bezier tool and closed the ends. Then I went to effects then powerclip , place inside container. I get the black arrow but when I go to click on the line I just made it says, "the object you selected is invalid" This is driving me nuts!!! help!!
fred, can you share that file? Maybe someone will look into it and find the solution. Please note that not all of us have X5, so saving to a lower version may be a good idea.

Yes, provided that you reopen the lower version in X5 to make sure it still has the problem we're looking for
Im sorry guys, I am new at this. What does , reopen the lower version, mean?
