Hi everyone. I am new to corel and I have the Corel Draw X5 and I can not power clip a picture. I clicked on the bezier tool and traced the image. I went to power clip and when I clicked on the line I just made with the black arrow it says , the object I selected is invalid. Any ideas. Fred
Check if you can apply a uniform fill to the bezier curve. If you can't do that, it may not be a closed curve.
Hi Harry, thanks for the reply. I did the uniform fill after using the bezier tool and it worked. It filled with the color I choose. But when I try to use the power clip it still says " the object you selected is invalid"
I just pushed the work space default reset and the same thing happens. I can not power clip. I took a picture from online used the bezier tool and closed the ends. Then I went to effects then powerclip , place inside container. I get the black arrow but when I go to click on the line I just made it says, "the object you selected is invalid" This is driving me nuts!!! help!!
fred, can you share that file? Maybe someone will look into it and find the solution. Please note that not all of us have X5, so saving to a lower version may be a good idea.
bahnsen, I didn't use a particular picture. It won't work on any picture.
Fred, are you 100% sure you have your jpg SELECTED before you select the Powerclip option?
In re-reading your description, it sounds like you may be doing the process backwards
Can you walk me through it? Please.
Try this.
IT WORKED !! Thank you Steve. What I did was I took the image, made a circle then clicked on the image again then clicked powerclip. When I clicked on the outside line of the circle it worked. Thank you all for your help with this.
Glad to help :)
Just as ColorYourWorld said . . select your image first; then do your powerclip into container, and you should get this kind of result:
