X5 DRAWING SQUARES

Can anyone help me?? I have drawn two squares. one is 20mm sq and the other is 15mm sq.

I placed one square inside the boundery of the other and selected NO FILL..Yet when I import the image into my Laser Engraving program, the empty space between the borders of the two squares is FILLED...

I am trying to do this Job for somebody, but I have no idea how to stop this happening...PLEASE HELP if you can...

Thanks to anyone who knows how to stop the FILL happening ?????

  • You say you import it into your engraving program. What format is it you export from DRAW ?

    • I am saving it as a DXF File then importing it into my Laser Program..

This is the first time I have had this problem and I have created some very detailed designs and successfully Laser Cut and Engraved them.

The Laser Program is PHCad which I think isn't the best around and it has very limited editing tools, so I can't even change things there.

I am grateful for any help I can get right now.

    • Hi,

Like Anand said, you are probably exporting to a format that doesn't support transparency.

Try exporting to either of the formats shown below that support transparency...

Some popular formats that support transparency:

      • .PNG / .GIF / .TIF / .PSD

Some formats that doesn't support transparency:

      • .JPG / .BMP

      • Thanks for your advice Pratik.. I will certainly give those suffixes a try and see if that cures the problem.

It is very strange, because I have never hit this snag before. I have actually run out of ideas now, so help is very welcome..
