Hello kind people!
I m very new to CD and i was assigned to do a project about/with Rhinestones! My question/s after watching few related to subject tutorials is/are:
After creating the stones, adding them to my path then blend along path,is there a way to put A distance between the stones?Adjusting the spacing doesn't really help me as i cant see the exac distance between my stones.
For instance, if my stones are 3mm wide i want them also have 3mm distance between them,is it possible to do that automatically or with some trick ? I m not sure how to do it manually as i don't know how to measure the distance all the time between the stones, plus with bigger projects the more time it would take me to do it.
Sorry for the bad English ,still learning! Ciao
I do rhinestone templates, now and then. And I use the blend tool, a lot.
But if you need to maintain a specific distance between stones, my suggestion is to create a sprayer of 3 mm stones, spaced 3mm apart. Then you can apply the sprayer to the path of the object, that will create the effect that you are looking for.
Hello Hugh , thanks for the fast reply!
My question is : how to obtain the stones from sprayer? i mean there are some custom objects, how can i create an object myself? (a stone etc) then load it into sprayer?
Try this in the blends category.......
Hello Mike!
thank you for the reply.
My problem is that my blend options are not like the ones you show me inside the picture,i dont have that icon near the 'stair icon' . Does this mean that i need to use a newer version of CD? i m currently using CDX5.Maybe is it an addon or something?
thanks in advance
Found where it was!
But problem still remains , i put 3,3mm spacing , but it wont do it correctly. They are to close.

Shouldn't that be 6mm spacing? (3mm stone + 3mm space)

Actually the space between the stones is smaller than the stone itself, so not really :D i should make it around -1.8+
And the spacing value is from center (of stone) to center of next (stone). that is why for a 3mm stone, you need 4.8 to have 1.8mm between stone edges.
Thank you Hugh you are my savior !
now i need to learn how to create parallel paths/lines and try to get correct distance from stones.
I tried 4.8mm with contour in circle shape but there is stone collision as i do it .
