Why won't CorelDRAW X8 Education edition install on my Win10 64 computer?

I purchased X8 Suite Education edition and downloaded the files from the link in the welcome email. The files downloaded, but afterwards Setup.exe just froze. When it came time to download, a window recommending I install the 64-bit version, but the radio buttons to select (as shown in the video at Corel.com) did not appear. Afterwards, I was able to install the trial version, then tried to see if it was possible to install the right file, but it requires the other version to be uninstalled first. When attempting to uninstall the trial version, the Setup.exe again froze. Is there a problem with Win10? The Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 VC++ Redistributable 2015 version 14.0.23918.0 that I have heard causes problems is NOT installed on my computer. Is there a problem with Win10? Got any suggestions?

I had a problem with it also. I contacted Corel.com.

I don't know if pasting the conversation with Corel would help, I still have it and could email it to you. I hope you got it running in the meanwhile, if so, just ignore this.

I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with the program. Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 are reporting issues installing CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8 (CDGS X8). CDGS X8 installer is failing when this redistributable is run and detects the newer version.

We are looking into a permanent solution, however an interim workaround would be to uninstall the VC++ component(s) blocking the CDGS X8 installation from Windows Control Panel, then reinstall the same component(s) after CDGS X8 is installed.

For 64bit version of CDGS X8:
1. Launch Windows Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features.
2. Scroll to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) - 14.0.23918.0 (see screenshot).
3. Double-click to uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
4. Install CDGS X8.
5. Reinstall the 64bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from https://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs#d-visual-c

For 32bit version of CDGS X8:
1. Launch Windows Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features.
2. Scroll to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) - 14.0.23918.0 (see screenshot).
3. Double-click to uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
4. Install CDGS X8.
5. Reinstall the x86 version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from https://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs#d-visual-c

It is important that the uninstalled Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 components be reinstalled after CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8 is successfully installed.
