I have had a few moments to post my thoughts on the NBM show on a few press forums and one of the discussions is the spot color display bug in InDesign CC2015. As it turns out the buzz is all about the spot colors all displaying as black.
Hell of a thing to pay all that money for ID, then still need Illustrator and Photoshop and get that result.
All ID files we get, (ad we get few which is too many) are all CMYK so I have no experience with it. Any of you seeing this?
I believe it was vector fills, maybe those posting haven't upgraded yet. I get so few ID files in my world it's the least used of the Adobe products and also the most problematic from the ID published PDF perspective.
I agree this may be similar to the custom palette spot color display issues seen on this forum. I never had any spot color palette issues because coming from the manufacturing end I believe I had enough experience to know to stick with commercial spot palettes.
I mean really, a user takes C0 M100 Y90 K0 and makes it a spot color in a custom spot palette, now where does he get that can of ink, can of paint or textile to produce anything?
Use Pantone 485 C and anyone can print it, same goes for paints or other palettes.
I stick to commercial palettes and the document palette.

I double checked the posts it's the .4 version and it was a CMYK build set as spot color in all cases and vector also.
