I am a cartographer, so it is not uncommon that I could be bringing in 3,000+ features in on one layer. Some of these features can be very complex, for example rivers and streams.
I am wondering why CorelDraw X8 renders all of the vertices of objects when you try to delete a layer? This becomes problematic because it takes an incredibly long time to delete due to the rendering.
Suggestion for future versions or for a SP: Just delete the layer and the data. Even a dummy prompt asking "Are you sure you want to delete this layer?", like in Illustrator, would be good.
I do not know of any other application that renders the vertices of vector data prior to deletion.
I am wondering if there are other users that would benefit from this type of feature or if they have had similar experiences...

I think that one way to avoid the long wait is to delete the layer using a macro.
If I use this code, it takes practically no time to delete the active layer with 3000 curves in it:
Sub my_macro_to_delete_active_layer()
ActiveLayer.Delete
End Sub

You are correct, Ronny. That will do it.
