I have many fonts that include alternate characters that I substitute using this method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBVsufJjons
I never had any trouble in X7. Since upgrading to X8 many of my fonts will not allow access to the alternates anymore and remain visually cut-off unless I convert them to curves. Of course after this conversion, alternates are no longer available because the shapes are no longer text.
Example:
Claude here's my problem, lots of my clients are seeing serious issues with Adobe and fonts. Is this because of this issue or some other features they are providing?
I'm happy to do testing I just don't want to cut off our noses to spite our faces!
Hi all. Thank you for all of the discussion, answers and suggestions! I purchased the font "Anthem" as a part of this bundle https://creativemarket.com/graptail/593367-Font-Bundle-%28Graptail%29-89-OFF Also available as a standalone here https://creativemarket.com/graptail/441937-Anthem-Script?utm_source=Link&utm_medium=CM+Social+Share&utm_campaign=Product+Social+Share&utm_content=Anthem+Script+%7E+Script+Fonts+on+Creative+Market Other than the problems with where the top and bottom guides are set, it is well designed (IMO - smooth/minimum of control handles, etc..)
I have sent a note to the designer on creative market and haven't received a reply.

I'm sure you haven't. I doubt you will.
Hi! Thank you for the suggestions. Your idea is exactly how I'll be working around it. Not perfect, but it's okay for the time being. :)
Happy holidays!
