Upgraded computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now Corel won't open. Get the error message that it has stopped working immediately after trying to launch the program. I've tried everything I can think of and its no longer supported so Corel Support won't assist. We have 12 licenses of this and 7 are currently on Windows 10, upgraded from 7 in the same manner, and they have no issues what-so-ever.
So far I've tried the following:
1. All suggestions in this thread... https://community.coreldraw.com/talk/coreldraw_graphics_suite_x8/f/coreldraw-graphics-suite-x8/55232/coreldraw-x8-has-stopped-working
2. Uninstall using Revo Pro, restart and do a Fresh install
3. Hold F8 to reset program
4. Wipe out Temp files and Appdata for Corel
5. Update to x8.1 and the patch that supposedly fixes this issue.
Any insight would be great! If not then we will just have to break down and update I guess.
Odd. X7 works just fine on very latest version of Windows 10 Pro.
I personally would backup custom workspace. Hold F8 to reset X8. Hold F8 to reset Font Manger. Uninstall X8 completely, everything.
Run CCleaner and clean everything up and the registry.
Make sure Windows 10 is completely UP TO DATE. reboots.
Reinstall X8. Reactivate.
This actually ended up being a permissions issue to .NET Framework64, machine.config file. I've had this issue in the past but usually both Framework and Framework64 lose permissions and so you see errors all over. This time the 32-bit version was fine so mostly every program ran fine until it hit a 64-bit program version.
So it ended up being nothing to do with Corel, just happened to be the only 64-bit program running on that particular machine. Thanks for your assistance because it actually lead me in the correct direction and threw the true error while trying to launch Corel Capture!
