I will save my project. A few seconds later I get a message on the screen That CorelDraw has stopped working. I'm using Win 7 Pro with all updates. And; no updates available for X8. This started happening Little over a week ago. Can't figure it out, even with my computer builders help.
So many factors can intervein with this issue.Maybe an update in Win7 causes conflict with Corel. Maybe due to a crash Corel has been corrupt.Shot in the dark... Would you be willing to completely uninstall CorelDRAW with an application like REVO UNINSTALLER and reinstall?Very respectfully, you know you're working with a very outdated version of Windows, right?
Stephan thanks for the tips. I went through and added a couple of updates that hadn't d/led yet. Know I'm getting a message that says "The RPC server is unavailable". Want let me in my folders directly. But; I can open a Corel(or any other file for that matter) by simply opening the program and opening it that way. Weird! Yes; this is an old version of Windows. My computer guy built it with 7 because it was more stable than 10 at the time. I'm getting ready to build a whole new system that will have 10 to also support the new CorelDraw Suite 2021. Just need the money. I'm looking at between 2-3K to build the system I want. Till then I have to nurse this one. But; upgrades did seem to help. Corel is actually running faster it seems. Thanks!
Corel will run faster if you have the machine for it.Have you considered buying a computer online at Dell?In my experience, I've purchsed my 3 last machines at Dell.ca (I'm from Canada) on the Black Friday events. I've saved nearly 1000$ every time (1600$ instead of 2400$/2500$). Of course, our taxes are heavy. I will never change to any other brand. These are most stable machines I've ever worked with.I repeat. My experience.
I actually use a Dell now. And the motherboard and processor for my next build will be Dell. After looking it's the vid card that is the expensive part of this build for the new Corel.
In your case, I would have completely uninstalled CorelDRAW with REVO, and reinstalled it. Maybe a refresh with newly installed files might solve this. I repeat... MIGHT. Nobody configures their machines the same way, with the exact same programs installed. Nobody cleans their machines the same way, or not at all. So I wish you luck with this one.Your 'computer guy' was probably right, at the time. Now, Windows 10 is pretty much rock solid and really fast, now that Win 11 is now officially released.I personnaly think you'll be much better with Win10, but it won't last too long, if you plan on keeping your computer for a long time. You'll probably want to consider upgrading to Win11 when it will be REALLY ready (in a year or so).OH, and don't hesitate for RAM. Power that thing up like heck!
