Does anyone know how to change b & w clip art color? I don't want to fill the background or object, I just want to change all black lines to a different color. I feel like an idiot because I have tried and cannot figure it out. Many thanks.
Mary, Jeff and Ed gave you great advice if you are working with a bitmap.
If by chance, you already have a vector image, it may be that all you need to do is ungroup the image.
When you select your piece of clipart, what does your Status Bar say?
If it says "group of ? objects", then go to Arrange, Break Group apart.
You should then be able to go back and select the areas that you want to re-color.

I have done a search so if I'm repeating an earlier post please forgive me as I'm new to this forum. I have had Paint Shop Pro XI for quite awhile now but have never done anything with it except to fix and correct pictures normally using the automated steps. I'm trying to make some new Icons for my PPC phone and want to change the color of the backrounds that I have.I've tried using the flood fill tool and than using the air brush to fill in pixils it didn't get with limited success. Is there a way to lift the image off of the background than put it back after changing the color?I've stumbled on it once but for the life of me I can't remeber what I did. I'm sure this is a nuub question but any help would be appreciated....THANX
