I purchased PhotoPaint X3 many years ago & have built/rebuilt my personal PC a few times since then.
I never had a problem re-installing PP X3 until today. I just replaced my mechanical HD with a new SSD. I can't launch or activate PP X3 this time. A window says I have reached the maximum number of times to use my serial number! I never realized that Corel had a limit. I only use it on one PC.
Please advise me what to do about this. I know it was a few years ago, but I paid good money for the program. I didn't know it had an "expiration date".
Well TBoyd I think I would give Corel a call and talk with a rep. and see what they say. You can go to the "Corel.com" on the menu at the top of the page and get a phone # or email them.
George
I tried to email them with my full explanation. The product selection drop-down menu does NOT include X3 versions. I was forced to select X4 just to get my form accepted - then it stated I must register my product before they would communicate an answer! My product registration for X3 is still in my account.
It is obvious that Corel is not interested in helping people like me with an older version. I can't call the 877 number they have listed. Apparently Corel does not have their 800 number to cover the US Virgin Islands.
This is frustrating.
I retired from telecommunications as a tech. I know that 800 numbers are ordered by the customer & are given options as to the coverage area. Corel's 800 number does not include my area.
I found the local number for Corel Corporate Office & was able to be transferred to tech support. I had to leave a VM explaining the problem & gave my pin #.
When I got back home, I had received an email letting me know that my threshold for activations had been increased. I was able to open & activate PP X3.
Many thanks to Corel support! I have renewed faith in them!
I'm glad you were able to get it worked out. And come join us again OFTEN.
