Hi,
Can anyone please help me with making custom nibs in PhotoPaint X3. Yes, I can create the nib from a mask, but it gets appended to the exising set of nibs. When you save it, the complete set of nibs get saved, including Photopaint's built in ones. Trying to delete some of the nibs doesn't work. It looks like they delete, but they stay right where they are. I want to create a completely new set, with only my nibs in it. Is it possible? Also, I notice that the nibs saved from Photopaint creates the .nib file but it doesn't create a .msk file. I believe both must be present?? Any Ideas?
Here is a link to my empty Nib file, it will give you a starting point to make your own nib files. As for the msk files, I never missed them, I'm not positive right now but I think they are a leftover from older versions. Here is the link to the Empty nib file
Thank you! Thank you! It works. One more question/problem. The nibs thumbnail isn't the same as the nib itself. ie. the thumbnails always display a soft round brush, not the nib shape. A quick Google found another person with the same problem, but with PhotoPaint 11, that is why I asked about the .msk files. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Corel-Photo-Paint-1031/Corel-Graphics-Photopaint-11.htm
Great to know the empty nib file worked for you. Sorry I can help you with the round display of the nib, that is the only way I have ever seen them displayed.
Thanks. Now I can turn all those free Photoshop brushes on the net into Photopaint nibs.
I don't know how you convert the abr files to png, I use abrViewer. After I convert the brushes I use the "Mask from object" command and then load the nib. I would like to mention that despite the fact that PP will show the nib in a round window, the nib will actually be the shape you created it in.
