Hi! I am fairly new to CorelDRAW and I am having an issue with layering objects that I can't figure out. The problem I am having is this:
I have two line drawings, and one sits on top of the other. Normally, the object in the back is partially hidden by the one in the front. However, I have just done a drawing where the object in the back is NOT partially hidden by the one in the front, and it looks like they are both on the same layer. What happened? I am not sure if I inadvertantly changed a setting, but I can't seem to figure out how to hide that back layer. I have tried using the 'order' function, and that usually works, but for some reason it is not working this time. Please help!
I think you may possibly have one of those objects on the master page.
Layer management has changed slightly in recent versions so I can't say for sure how version 12 works. But I'd suggest you show the object manager docker and verify whether both those objects are on the current page. If they are not, you can easily move them by dragging in the object manager.
Within the current page, the order of objects in the object manager is exactly the same as the front-to-back order so you should be able to verify what order your objects are really in, even if they are on different layers.
Yes, thanks for your reply, but this is not the issue, I looked for that already as well. I did some altering to the drawings with the pen tool, and since I did that, the objects won't sit normally, as you can see from my screen shot below. Maybe I just need to start from scratch, I don't know. I have done this before and I didnt have that problem. This is the first time this has happened.
Do the objects have a fill as well as an outline?
If they do not, and if they will not accept a fill (perhaps because they have become a collection of lines rather than a fillable object) you may find you can fill them with the smart fill tool.

I think this may be the problem here. I didn't really 'close off' any of the lines I altered, which may be the reason why its acting like this. Basically, when I changed the design, I used the virtual segment delete tool to get rid of lines I didn't need, then drew back in the lines I did need. The line art itself is not a fillable object, just line segments added after the fact. Anyway, rather start over, I just make the designs smaller so they wouldn't overlap. Problem fixed for now. Next time I'll do it differently so that doesn't happen. Thanks guys for your help!

Yes, this is where the smart fill tool would have been useful, but you don't have it in version 12.
Its still quickly fixable if you want, by creating one extra object :
I'm assuming the shirt on the right should be in front of the other.
The new object (shown in red) can quickly be drawn if you turn on "snap to objects" which is probably in the view menu. The polyline tool is better than the freehand tool for this, because you only need to click once on each node so there is less danger of getting an unclosed shape.
When you have drawn it, fill it with white (or whatever is the shirt colour) and order it between the two shirts, then turn off the outline. Its probably a good idea to group it with the other objects making up the shirt, so they all move together.
You should now have the two shirts overlapping and the new fill object hiding the unwanted lines of the other shirt.
