Dear everybody,
Can anyone help me here please. I am working with Corel X3 PhotoPaint. Within this program I frequently use the eraser-tool. Suddenly the eraser icon has changed into a 'paint'- icon, and when I now want to erase something now I see a brush (which makes it very hard to figure out the parts you want to erase) instead of a transparant circle or square.
Can anyone please help to set it back to an eraser icon ?? Restarting the computer and the program don't help, now I keep getting the pain'-tool icon.
Thanks

Did you by any chance click on this (shown on image)? That will swap colors of eraser...
Dear Wache
Someone else already send me the solution.
If have to start Corel PhotoPaint while pressing F8, to reset eeverything.
But thanks for your answer.

Hi Ted,
just for future reference...as you probably know, an F8 restart loses all your custom settings, such as preferences, ruler settings, etc. What just happened to you tends to crop up every now and then and sometimes there is a simpler solution, rather than messing up all your customisations. If you look at my screen capture below, the circled option is usually ticked to show the Cursor as a circle at the size of your Eraser, Paintbrush, etc. If it has somehow become unticked, then tick it and click OK and all should be fine again. Alternatively, I have on occasion had your issue and the box was already ticked, so I unticked it and again all was well. Very strange I know.
So try that first next time and if you still have the issue, then do the F8 restart as a second step.
Best regards,Brian.
Oops, it might help if I show the screen capture
