I'm ddicted to Corel but alas not with my apple mac arghh!!!!!!! Why and When?
Please please please - I've moved from PC to Mac after 15 years intensively using it daily on a PC.
I use CDX3 on a PC at work but am unable to use it at all at home! I was forced to buy some Adobe Indesign & AI stuff but AI just does not cut it!
Please will Corel move back to us Apple users? if not how can i use X3? on my intel imac (without soiling it with windows)
I'd pay double for Corel on the mac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone concur?

Are you unbalanced? The Mac isn't worth what you pay for it let alone double for the software. I'm going through hell with a MAC set up right now having to run 3 different versions of the operating system to support hardware/software. I hope Apple get out of the computer business.
Apple on the computer industry is more than a trademark, it's a feeling, something like Ferrari on car world, like Harley-Davidson on motorcycles, like CorelDRAW on vector graphics. Don't ask if Honda is faster than Harley-Davidson, the simple sound of the engine is different and special. In the same way, an iPhone is not "just another phone", and one iPod is not "just another MP3 player". Other manufacturers try to emulate Apple as far is possible (including Windows) Also, a Mac is not "just another computer", not only because you can use 32 Gb of RAM, also it's a beautiful design, when soem people see a Mac just say "Wooooow!!!" When people use a Mac feel pleasure and satisfaction. But the most important thing: it's a powerful computer, with a good an stable operating system. Make no mistake ourselves, or think "if I do not use it, it's not good".

Hi.
Well I surely wasn't debating the awesomeness of the Mac itself. It is a truly great machine I'm sure.
The argument I was touching on was being a die hard CorelDraw user, and having an extra "cheap" machine just to run it. Just the synchronization would be a hassle, not to mention impeding the speed of your work flow.
For many, besides having more cdr files than are possibly countable, and the CorelDraw program being a center hub of their business and life...well the choice is to simplify.

I don't say wow when I see an Apple or even a bad ass PC for that matter. Computers without the user are worthless. I say WOW! when I see what a user can do with it. I've seen some very powerful users use crap computers and with it they could run circles around a novice user on a power machine.

Hi, Underneath all the hype about mac being this and that.

Go to wehatemacs.com read it for a while and you'll realize that they don't hate MACs anymore than anything else just those who can't see through the BS on any subject.
Hi Ariel,
All I want to say is that Mac users seem to have a massive chip on their shoulders and are forever starting out in their posts with defamatory, or critical comments about Windows. Why would anyone do that in a forum where clearly the majority of users are Windows PC users? Why would anyone do that at all? You have an opinion, so don't try to state your opinion as facts. Look at all the people in these forums, MOST of them are PC users who would never even think about, or talk about Macs. Why would they? Unless someone asked the question, "which do you think I should buy?", or "Can a I use CDGS on a Mac?", there would be no reason to talk about Macs. This is a Corel forum.
However, Mac users are forever coming in here and telling us how superior their Macs are, which they are not! They come in here and boast how they prefer a Mac.....who gives a sh$t???? PCs and Macs use the same Intel processors, although PCs offer a vastly greater choice (in terms of specification and price) and offer far cheaper computers for the same performance. Macs 'often' have a nicer appearance, not always, but who cares? I USE a computer, I don't POSE with a computer! Seriously, I am over this BS. The Macs generally have a better build quality in terms of body and chasis, but I don't go around kicking my computers or shoving them off the desk....so who cares? Look at the some of the higher end PCs (which have a cost more like that of a Mac) and they are built much better too.
As for reliability, I have been using Windows 7 since the pre-beta release and I have never had a single "Windows OS" crash. I have never once had to restart Windows 7 as a result of instability. It has been 100% reliable...what is a Mac, a fictional 200% reliable, a number that exists in your head with all the other nonsense you said about Macs? This "pleasure to use", "people saying 'Wooooow' " and this "Ferrari comparison" nonsense. Keep dreaming your nonsense and I'll keep enjoying using my PC. All you are doing with your post is giving a load of hype, the very hype that Apple thrives upon.
As a final note, I have no problem with, or anything against Mac computers whatsoever. To me, I see them for what they are: an alternative to a Windows PC, as is a Linux computer and or any other. Simply another choice. If you make the choice to use a Mac, use it and enjoy it, but don't come the hard sell crap on someone who made a "different" choice. When people come in here crapping on about PCs they are basically giving a message "you are all morons, you are using inferior junk and should buy a Mac". Mac users seem to have a need to "justify" why they paid twice a much for the same performance.
Enough said.
See what happened in this thread? Instead of someome coming in and saying
"I would like to run CDGS X5 on a Mac, does anyone know if I can do that and how I would go about it?. I would prefer not to have 2 operating systems on my Mac, so I don't really want to install Windows onto it...."
we get
"I don't want to soil my computer with Windows...", implying Windows is crap...and to a whole forum of people who use and CHOOSE TO use Windows.
Like I said, Mac users have a real chip on their shoulders. Same BS like "if you're not using Adobe and on a Mac computer you are not a professional". This could have been such a simple thread and almost turned into a war...LOL
