hiya ppl... i am recreating some barcodes for some products and they are not working??? i copy the number and the standard and it wont work??? any ideas... the size is larger than the one that works and still nothing...
Could you explain what do not work? What are you doing?
it wont scan on our product scanner in the shop... i create the barcode using corels barcode wizard... i use the usual settings... got someone else to create the same barcode in barcode pro and then it worked... the only diff i can see is that the numbers seem to fill the bottom space evenly whereas mine is a bit to the left... and when i look at it closely the whites on mine dont seem as white... not as much contrast... seeing as a barcode reader reads the white space maybe thats why... but how can you adjust that in corels barcode wizard?
any ideas ppl? otherwise im gonna have to buy a program to create our barcodes... i even tried some free one on the net.. and it scanned fine... but oyu cant adjust the size of it...
ideas anyone????
Hi,
I am relatively new to VBA but made myself tow macros which do exactly this.
In fact they mimic the sequence of actions - Copy -> Paste Special -> Metafile -> Convert to curves -> No outline for all -> Fill CMYK Black (very important) except the bounding rectangle.
I can share them but being absolutely new to the forum don't know whether I can attach the GMS file.
Using Corel Barcode Wizard for many years and no problems at all.
Edit: Found the attach file option. Macros are not finished and polished but do what's needed. The barcode object must be selected and the layer it belongs to - active.
sorry... but what does this macro do exactly that will fix the problem im having? do u use the barcode wizard in X3? do your numbers come out like above? maybe its just EAN13 that has the problem?
i have figured out why it wasnt working! the wide to narrow ratio cannot be set above 2.0 to 1 because then the numbers dont fill the bottom area properly and they overlap the bar lines... which is a bit weird considering the lowest ratio is 2.0 to 1? so you dont really have any choice on that setting as far as i can see...
I've read a lot about barcode standards in the past. AFAIR EAN or UPC barcodes have a fixed ratio. You can change the ratio of ITF barcode.
Also X3 has problems with the OCR-B font that shipped with ver. 9
Macros are just to help me convert quickly barcodes, say for a series of several labels when I prepare the artwork fro sending to the prinshop.
