Copy Text problem

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with text copy at specific cdr file.  When i try to copy the text objects it doesnt copy to the clipboard. And i can't paste them.

I have this problem only one cdr file. There is no problem other my cdr files or new created cdr files. And ı have this problem on ver x3.739. There is no problem on X4.

How can i fix this problem?

  • Make sure your text objects are not locked or on a non-editable layer.
(Check the Object Manager docker for the grayed out pencil beside the
layer name or a lock icon beside the object.)
If the layer is editable and the object is not locked or inside a group,
there's probably some kind of corruption problem with the object. Your
best bet is to try to duplicate it using the + key on your keyboard or
Ctrl+D, then try to copy the duplicate.
Also, just on the off chance, make sure your text really is text and not
just an object that LOOKS like text. If it's not real text you won't be
able to select portions of text with the text tool.
    Hope something there helps.

    • Thanks for reply.

The object is not locked and isnt on non-editable layer.

ı try to duplicate it using the + key on your keyboard or
Ctrl+D, then try to copy the duplicate.  it works...

There is no problem on coreldraw X4, ı have this problem on X3.

      I dont understand why?

      • I'm not sure why some objects simply get corrupt from time to time. I'm sure it's something technical behind the scenes and deep in the code (could even be in the Windows code rather than the Corel code since we're talking copy and paste here - I ocdasionally get that with other programs as well as Corel products). I'm glad that duplicating the object works for you. Ocasionally you get one you have to completely redraw/retype from scratch. Hopefully X4 will have fewer instances of this happening than previous versions of CorelDRAW.
