Hi all :)
So let's say I want to use a picture of a coca-cola bottle from an image I found on the internet, or I take a pic of one... what is the best way to cut-it-out?
1) For instance, sometimes, the object is cut out of a white background and I want to use it on a black background... leaves a nasty outline :( - maybe its easier to take a pic of the object on a black background (which is what I usually do - but I don't feel like getting the camera out - besides, I then almost always need to touch up the photo)
and
2) how do I easily smooth the edges if a use the colour wand? before or after cutting out (Copy to clipboard)?
K - thanks :)
ps (i'm adding tags... but don't really know if I'm doing it right - pls comment) Thanks again ;)
Here is the Cutout Lab in action. Please note that I rushed it to try to keep the video file size down, but you get the idea. Brilliant tool for Cutting out!
You may have noticed that I chose the option Cutout As Clip Mask. Then when the image was returned to the normal workspace there was a mask icon on the layer with the image. That mask icon signifies a clip mask. If you click on that clip mask icon (it will have a red border when selected) you can paint onto the image to adjust the mask. If you accidentally removed something you hadn't intended to, select a Paintbrush and white as the paint colour, and paint over the missing details to bring them back. Similarly, painting with black will remove anything you left behind and had intended to remove. Painting with any shade of grey will partially show/remove the original image.
Once you get used to working this way you will rarely ever work any other way! Also, you can click on the clip mask and:
