Cold! Nice pic Phil.
Unfortunately the warming is what caused this. When you hear global warming think Polar regions. When you think Polar Regions think Fate of the Earth, or at least mans ability to live on it. Warmer polar regions, even by a few degrees will destabilize the Earths weather, and all life on it.

Who? Al Gore, who ran off to a seaside mansion in California after getting grief from his neighbors for his excessive carbon footprint. But he made millions, so he doesn't care.
Turns out the science wasn't settled nearly as much as they claimed. Hate when that happens, but that's the beauty of science. Scientists propose theories, and other scientists either corroborate or disprove them. Nice pic.

About "Global warming" or "climate change": the Earth is now on a warming cycle, aside of the human activity. The "little ice age" end about 1850 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ice_Age) and after this, the global temperature is increasing year by year. It's a natural cycle, and still we don't know the cause of those changes. One of the most possible causes are the altered ocean current flows. For example, the Gulf Stream increases the northwest Europe temperature, and if the direction of the GulfStream changes a new Ice Age will start on Europe.
