Hi Everybody, Corel has a photography news group which is being used as a de facto news group for many users of various programs other than PSP. Many use PhotoShop and others use graphics editors which are simpler than PSP. It has PSP in its name but it is certainly the de facto and only place to post photos within the Corel framework. You can let me have comments on my latest Dingman Falls photos and my masterpiece of a night shot. It is "Corel.PaintShopPro_Photography".PhilPS: It has amazing features - like you only get one space when hitting enter and no ridiculous mix of fonts.
I have found that some of the 'thought police' in the PSP Photography forum frown on postings made of images which were derived from software other than a flavor of PSP. The Jasc legacy-no doubt. There are people there who will look at your EXIF data and chastise you if they find trails from other image editors. If you don't mind putting up with the limited image edting world view, it is a place where you can post.
We Photo-painters requested a binary friendly group many times and met with no success.
I think galleries here is a good option too.
Hi Rick, Nice to see you around. I know exactly what you are saying. It was even worse when I first starting posting there. A pack of mad dogs appeared out of nowhere because I dared disagree with the idiotic comments made by the two ruling queens. I gave them shot for shot and most of it quieted down. Even the chief bag of wind, Spandex, has been pretty silent for awhile. I have not even heard from her devoted followers when I tell her what I think of her and her home made circus. However, times seem to be changing after the last blow-up between Sally and Joelle this past week. I haven't even received any criticism for changing a sky. In any case, it is still the only active place to post photos like mine which are always heavily retouched for better or worse. I can't handle this forum any too well. By the way, I totally agree with you that for straightening horizons, the crop tool is great and the PSP straighten tool is even better. However, there are occasions when the straighten dialog is better yet. Lately, I have been taking pictures of houses. (My wife is looking around for a house for when we get up there.) If you point the camera up, the sides of the house and all other verticals tilt inwards. Now crop that photo heavily on one side. All the verticals now tilt one way. Yet the horizon is still horizontal. I use the straighten dialog to get a best compromise and then the distort tool to finish the job.Phil
