Hi ,I am new to the industry and would like to purchase a drawing tablet ,and have looked at the wacom intuos 3PTZ630 6x 8",and would like to know if this model is a good place to start for touching up photos and drawing contours around images etc.
Hi Tip, I agree with the other posters about the value of a tablet. Let me add a few tid bits.1. It takes a while to get used to it.2. It will not turn anyone into a great artist unless you already have great artist capabilities. I found that out the hard way. 3. Consider size. I started a good many years ago with a 5" x 8" tablet. As my fingers grew old, I bought a 9" x 12" tablet. I like it a lot better. The area is two and a half times greater. However, I have seen posts in which users favored the smaller tablet.4. Perhaps you can post an inquiry into why some users prefer the smaller size and some prefer the larger size.Phil
Hi there,I use a wacom tablet on a daily basis in my work as illustrator, and some graphic design.
I have both a larger size and a smaller size.Why people prefer the one from the other you asked, well its a very personal question.I know an illustrator who uses a Wacom Intuos big almost like here own table. But she is stucked to the studio. She cant carry that around, and because of this she always have to be sitting on the same spot when working. Me on the other hand I have both an A5 and A6 Wide size. In europe we uses these sizes, A6 wide is the smallest of the Wacom tablets,and the A5 is the closest size above.
I use to be against the smaller A6 wide size before, but know prefere it, and always uses it.Then again, I am very mobile. I like to sit and work on different places around town, and different places in a studio, and different places at home. I like to be able to have the wacom tablet both infront of my computer on the table, and on my lapp laying in a nice stool. Leaning back.
