I'd like to suggest you to use Wacom 6x8 Intous3. So far its the most result oriented software and also quite simple and efficient as well. For further details consult any of 70-284, 70-282, 70-290
...this goes bit off topic, but:
Those who use tablet all the time, do you notice any advantage in ergonomics compared to mouse? So far I've used mouse and computer generally, I 've got some tension problems on mouse side...
I've tried only cheap tablets (many years ago) for a very short time and I couldn't find it ergonomically as natural as pen and paper.

Totally. I was developing some tendon pains a while back during some intensive work hours. After using the tablet for drawing, the pains were gone. One excercise you can try is wrapping a rubberband around your fingers as a whole and just try to pull them apart now and then. Many tension problems are due to your muscles functioning only in one direction, so pulling them in the opposite direction helps in avoiding physical stress on them.
I'm running on two -now old but healthy- Wacom Intuos 2 tablets and they perform greatly.
Mosh:
That rubber band tip sounds good...I'll try it. I'll consider also that tablet, perhaps it doesn't have to be the most expensive one (although good pressure features there should be...)
I think I've developed a tension problem somewhere near shoulder bone. I like to use as light mouse as possible and always wired, they are easier to lift. Some ergonomic expert might say that mouse should not be lifted at all...but I simply can't work that way.
