Hi, I've been hunting madly for a PaintShop Pro forum, as I have PaintShop Pro Photo X2 but although there are many forums here - nowhere are there any to do with any version of PaintShop Pro.
Help?
I make textures for 3D models using PaintShop Pro, and I just wanted to... well commune really.
Nice to have somewhere to show what you're doing and to ask for help with any problems - and I can't find it...
Fran
Hi Fran,I know your feeling. There isnt any official Corel forum for Paint Shop pro, like this forum. BUT, rescue is near Try using this link: news://cnews.corel.com/corel.PaintShopProPhotoX2
Its an Official Corel Newsgroup. Which you have to connect to from with either Outlook or Thunderbird, your email program on your computer. Thats how it used to be for CorelDRAW and Core Photo-Paint and Ventura program users as well, until this year. So you might get it for PaintShop Pro as well, who knows, best to ask Corel or others at that forum.
Some people here seem to use Paint Shop Pro, but most use the equivalent Photo-Paint, and CorelDRAW of course.
Er..... what's a "newsreader"?
I don't know how to do that.
Are there no real forums then? Just email stuff? I can't cope with email stuff - I get too much as it is.
Looked at CamRatty - I don't think they like PSPX2...., they snear at it.
ronsphoto.com is I think, just trying to sell you photography
www.pspug.com is just a list of searches - which lead you back to corel.
www.pspiz.net says something about free parking - which I take to mean the site has lapsed and it's now up for grabs....
Um... so far no forums at all...
[:'(]
Just because something is not based on a website does not mean it's email. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that NNTP newsgroups = email. Some email clients can access newsgroups, yes. But that's kind of like saying just because I drive my car to work then everywhere I drive means I'm going to work.
Sorry, I wasn't sure what it meant, and didn't know how to find out. I equated it to my experience with - I think it was yahoo groups and their daily email digest - it's the habit of so many members of such groups, that maintain contact via email, to reply by adding their few (usually unhelpful - often just silly) word replies to an entire thread containing 44 previous replies - by copying the entire thread, so that your email gets gummed up with long winded uselessness.
Now, having got that off my chest, (lol!) you talk of firebird, don't know what that is. and outlook, have tried this and I usually turn it off in disgust.
I use just webmail now. Does this mean I can't do newsgroups without either Firebird or Outlook?
Is Thunderbird one of those... things? I can get that, in fact I think I've already got it. Will that work with it?
Did a bit of research, and Firebird seems to be some sort of regional database... er sorry, relational. Is this it?: http://www.firebirdsql.org/index.php?id=about-firebird&nosb=1
It looks incredibly complex.... (shudders and runs away)
I'm currently asking for help to set up Thunderbird since I saw that it mentioned newsgroups somewhere in the Thunderbird FAQs - tried on my own and (as usual) failed miserably.
In the meantime I'll try ronphoto.com again.
"if you had gone to cnews.corel.com as mentioned, you would have found some there."
Yes but didn't you say I couldn't reach it via the web, but had to have one of these newsgroups thingies first? I'm doing my best to get one, I just haven't had a reply on how to set it up yet.
Sorry about that....
(on looking back I see that Stefan mentioned Thunderbird too... good)
