We are a current subscriber using the X8 suite. According to the EULA, we are allowed to install the suite on up to 3 devices as long as only one copy is in use at a time. We have desktops at our shop and some laptops for working on projects at home when necessary.
We just received an email saying that we were allowed to upgrade to the 2018 Suite, but when installing on the second device, I received a warning about installing on multiple devices, and upon reading the EULA for the 2018 suite, it appears that we are now only allowed to install on one device per license. Is this true?
I just want to make sure we aren't doing anything in violation of the EULA and will stop changing over the software if that is the case.
Thanks
Yes, thank you for clarifying this, Gerard -- I was very concerned about this revised EULA! I do 90% of my work at a computer at home, but when I travel to teach I need it on my laptop so I can take it with me.
This is how every freelance designer I know works.
Thank you too, Gerard.I am in the same situation. One PC in studio and travelling Laptop. And in my company is only ME, so that I NEVER use Corel simultaneously on two machines And that thing with transferring licenses... GOOD IDEA! Thanks.
By the way (no offence): 1 license of Adobe CC allows you to install on more comps and even work simultaneously on two comps. My own experience.
Well, thank you, Gérard.
But why cannot the EULA be changed to reflect what you explain? Because that's not what it actually states.
Indeed, despite the assurances, the EULA still stands and everyone who does install on more than one (and as Roy points out above at more than one address) will be in breach of the stated terms of the EULA and as such could be found liable in law. The EULA need to be changed with the first Update for CDGS2018.
