Dear all Draw users:
I want to do someting like that in Corel Draw, and i want to know if its possible (i understand that Draw don't have by now this kinds of vector effects {maybe in the next update...}, but maybe thare is a trick how to do that).
This was created in Affinity Designer. the Text is "100% Transparent", and its applied to it an "Outher Shadow".
In Draw wen its "100% Transparent", and i aply a "drop Shadow", the backgrownd is gettting Black.
(Maybe its will be some replacement for the Blur effect {what is by now not available in Draw for Vector}, but not for What i want to do)

Hot Coffee can I ask what type of work you're doing? I.E. are you doing graphics for display, print, large and grand format?
I need to download Affinity again and run a trial version to check on resolution and color management. I was on their website looking at help posting and corporate replies and I was appalled by the responses, seems like a total lack of basic concepts.
I am a simple Graphic designer, and i create posters, brochures, and magazines.
I didnt used Designer a lot, i just want to try it the same that i am trying now Corel Draw. and of course that i am more happy with the results in Draw, but the limitation of easy and nice vector effects keeping me back to illustrator and Designer.
So, when you instaling the trial, take a look into the amazing vector effects, and then tel me if you disagrees with me.

No, i am not here to compare! and vector effects is not "All" i need! please...
I just want to have the ability to create nice posters with all amazing Draw features, and also... ...to have the ability to do in the same program simple effects that all other programs let me to do with one click. (no, this is not a "strength" - this is a "must" in a graphic program in 2019)

Draw is the most universally compatible application. With that said effects that you show in Affinity and illustrator are not very useful in all work flows. Many of these effects utilize raster features are internally controlled with little user control over the significant technical issues and are unable to provide sufficient controls at output. As an example the effects with hot coffee AI and Affinity might work for digital but if you were to utilize a 200 line screen or FM screened print process Affinity could produce a poor result, Illustrator would need modification by a superior user depending on print size. CorelDRAW simply wouldhave no issue. Your AI and Affinity logo would have serious size limitations, the AI version could be modified with significant work. The effect I showed in CorelDRAW could start with a business card size and be sized to 50' easily if your system had the horsepower.

Like I said in previous post, it would be nice with some additional vector effects, but they are not my highest priority.I hope that we at some point also can get some of the effects that you mention, but when they get added I hope they are well thought through and stable enough to use also for the things that David mentions.

Ok, so until they have the ability for that (Sir, its 2019 now...), lets stay with the old fashioned Bevel tool from the 19 hundreds...

Sir, also if Effects is not your "highest priority", is it not changing the fact that a vector program in 2018-2019 needs improved "one click" vector effects, and that Draw didn't update there effects (Bevel - Extrude) for years.
So, if you really want that Draw should stay behind, and keep this not improved Bevel tool forever, make sure that i am feeling like a clown, when i am asking for such "not important" things. and make sure to reply to this post, until i will give up...

I underdstand but unfortunately this is not how it works.
Hot Coffee, the newer programs tend to have a handful of very cool looking features, but they are always shallow. Never deep. When you need to go beyond just making a cool effect, and maybe needing to process it for output, the little programs have almost nothing to offer. And if they do offer features like that, they won't cost 50 dollars. I'm primarily an Illustrator user and I just created that same effect that you're showing in Affinity Designer, but the process is cumbersome and Illustrator struggles with processing any kind of live effects like drop shadows, 3D and such. It always did. I don't know what has to be done to improve performance with such things. There's really no answer because no single program can do it all. Corel will likely never make such big changes because Corel's customer base are people like David Millisock who works in sign making.
If you are a working professional, then the best option is to have a major program such as CorelDraw or Illustrator, then have a couple of these little "helper" programs that do a few things really well. Jump over to the little program to do that one little thing,then import that back into the major program to get the rest of your work done. I've been using Serif's older programs like that for many years. Serif's prosumer program can't possibly replace a major software like Illustrator or Photoshop, or CorelDraw, but they can provide those features like you've mentioned, and maybe a few more. They're cheap enough to have in addition to the major program,but unless you're needs are very small, AD can't replace a major program.
