Dear all Draw users:
I want to do someting like that in Corel Draw, and i want to know if its possible (i understand that Draw don't have by now this kinds of vector effects {maybe in the next update...}, but maybe thare is a trick how to do that).
This was created in Affinity Designer. the Text is "100% Transparent", and its applied to it an "Outher Shadow".
In Draw wen its "100% Transparent", and i aply a "drop Shadow", the backgrownd is gettting Black.
(Maybe its will be some replacement for the Blur effect {what is by now not available in Draw for Vector}, but not for What i want to do)

Thanks.
Hot Coffee can I ask what type of work you're doing? I.E. are you doing graphics for display, print, large and grand format?
I need to download Affinity again and run a trial version to check on resolution and color management. I was on their website looking at help posting and corporate replies and I was appalled by the responses, seems like a total lack of basic concepts.
I am a simple Graphic designer, and i create posters, brochures, and magazines.
I didnt used Designer a lot, i just want to try it the same that i am trying now Corel Draw. and of course that i am more happy with the results in Draw, but the limitation of easy and nice vector effects keeping me back to illustrator and Designer.
So, when you instaling the trial, take a look into the amazing vector effects, and then tel me if you disagrees with me.
Ronny Axelsson said:I suggest you continue to use Draw and try to see what it can do, instead of comparing it with the others to find out what it can not. But if vector effects is all you need, Draw 2018 may not be what you are looking for.
No, i am not here to compare! and vector effects is not "All" i need! please...
I just want to have the ability to create nice posters with all amazing Draw features, and also... ...to have the ability to do in the same program simple effects that all other programs let me to do with one click. (no, this is not a "strength" - this is a "must" in a graphic program in 2019)
So you say that Draw is not for this kind of things?!
Please make sure that Draw should be also for that, because all your competitors are...
Hot Coffee said:(Corel's customer base are basically sign makers?! it's official also by the Corel team?!)
No, most sign makers use CorelDRAW, but that doesn't means that most CorelDRAW user are sign makers. btw as far I can see CorelDRAW is more used for printing than other uses.
Anyway, there's a great controversy, and an old discussion, since many users do not want the program to have many "effects" since they say it seems "childish" or "for amateurs". Some believe that it should have a more serious profile, avoid colorful icons, there are even those who believe that the welcome screen or the property bar are too easy to use and make the program look "unprofessional"
Ok, but only when you are talking about "profile" and about giving a more "professional look" by avoiding colorful icons. i understand it.
But not when its comes to avoid vector effects that is needeble for professional graphic design.
sir, can i give up on my request?!

Hot Coffee, i am fully in your side. (when it comes to add features).

No, don't give up so fast, but you have to send your request to the CorelDRAW team. Here on the Community it's not a guarantee that they will think about it.
https://support.corel.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Can you, or someone else send it to them?
Try to find a Corel employee in these forums and get it touch with him or her.Maybe they already read this thread, I don't know. But let me tell you a couple of things first.Your requests are not new or unique in any way.I bet Corel has a pile of great suggestions on their desks, and many of them would have been in Draw a long time ago it it were possible.Of course they also know pretty well what their competitors can do and I'm sure they would copy a few things right away if they could, but the problem is that the time and costs to add them makes it almost impossible.I assume you are not a programmer, and neither am I, but even the simplest and most elementary feature (in our opinion) could force them to rewrite the core engine. And every change may affect other features and also break the workflow for thousands of users. So they have to think very carefully before adding and changing stuff, it's not just like creating a new feature and putting it on top of everything else, hoping that it will work. With this, I'll end the conversation on my part.Don't give up your ideas but be realistic. And when you feel ready, why don't you sign up as a beta tester?I can assure you it will be both rewarding and frustrating, but most of all give you a better understanding of how things work.
Thanks for the explanation, and i understand that.
(Please understand that for my works is this kind of easy Vector Effects = Top priority! and it was realy surprising for me, when i found this big limitation in Corel Draw. anyways, now i just hope thet they will do someting about that {when they will have the abillity for that...} in the near future.)
