I accidentally posted this in the wrong thread, so I will repost it here. I recently started the subscription for Corel Draw for Mac from my x7 that I ran using Parallels. One thing I can't get to work is saving multiple pages from Corel Draw to multiple artboards in Illustrator. I really need this function for my commercial work and I'm seriously struggling with it. I work on files that might have 100 pages, so saving individually is not an option. Am I missing something, or is this function no longer available?
I don't know about the Mac version and not your workflow either, but have you tried using PDF instead of AI for export?
That's an idea, I will give it a try. Thanks
Nope, that won't work. I need vector objects from each page in CorelDraw to export to individual artboards in illustrator.
I tried exporting a multipage document (five pages of different size) from Draw 2022 in AI format, and it opened all pages as artboards in Illustrator CS5. This was on Windows. No luck with PDF from Draw though, CS5 will only accept one page at a time as you already have found out.If I save as PDF from Illustrator without "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities", the resulting PDF will only open one page/artboard in Illustrator if I reopen. So I guess it is an Illustrator CS5 (what version are you using?) limitation. And, for what it's worth, a multipage PDF exported from Draw opens up just fine inAffinity Designer/Publisher/Photo, with all pages/artboards in place. If I export the same file again from Affinity Designer and then open in Illustrator, it will only open one page at a time.
On accident I discovered that I could export all the pages from Draw to individual artboards in Illustrator. But if I choose specific pages in the export options, then it will only export the first page to the illustrator file. So for now, my work around will be to export the whole document to artboards in illustrator, then delete or change the ones I don't need in Illustrator. Slightly annoying, but still do-able. Maybe this is a CS6 issue??? I haven't tried exporting to older versions of Illustrator.
