Adding a hyperlink

I want to add an Internet hyperlink to a piece of text within a piece of paragraph text in Corel Draw 2022

  1. I open the "Sources" docker via Window/Docker/Sources.
  2. I select the line of text in the document that I want to convert to a hyperlink and from the icons at the bottom of the Sources dialog choose "New Link."
  3. In the "Name" box that appears in the Sources dialog, I enter the URL to which I want the text to link.

At this point, I can't exit the "Name" box without the entire line of hyperlink options within the Sources dialog disappearing, its disappearance preceded VERY BRIEFLY by a large question mark. Similarly, if I choose one of the six options in the left-most drop-down menu - i.e. "http://," "https://," etc. - the entire line also disappears, preceded briefly by a question mark. The result is that I can't create a hyperlink; the entire Sources dialog box returns to empty.

The method works if I add the hyperlink to an ENTIRE text unit, artistic or paragraph, but it doesn't work if I try to add a link to some portion of a text unit. Is it not possible to add a hyperlink to text within a larger text unit?

  • I tend to use the 'Links and Rollovers' docker when I want to add a link.

Window > Docker > Links and Rollovers

Select the piece of text, make sure 'Link' is selected under Behavior, type or paste the URL into the URL box and then select the target.

    Hope this helps!

    • I apologize for being... FIVE MONTHS LATE!!! But tonight I needed to create a new link, rediscovered your solution, and now celebrate that it DOES work. Thanks! (five months late)
