Aside from the import PDF font issue I have been happy.
However for unknown reasons CorelDraw will just close with no warning at all - poof it's gone. I say randomly because sometimes it closes for no particular function I happen to be doing. It could be resizing an object, duplicating one, moving it etc. The program doesn't freeze first...it just disappears.
I use CorelDRAW everyday for work and before I begin I reboot the PC for a fresh start.
It's a DELL 9020 i7-4790 CPU 3.60-3.90GHz with 32G Ram - 600W power supply and a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G 192-bit GDDR6 Graphics card.
It got to the point where I set autosave for one minute.
It would be very useful for CorelDRAW to have a crash report as this would be valuable to the developers to see why its crashes instead of "it crashes".
I've had crashes like that happen to me before with CorelDRAW 2022. Thankfully such crashes are relatively rare. They happen on my personal notebook and work desktop maybe once every few days. Both machines are relatively new (less than a year old) and are pretty well equipped. On the other hand I have these other kinds of crashes that happen pretty much on a daily basis. I'll be working along and then the application just stops updating the activity on the screen. I can click on an object but the selection dots don't pop up around it. Or I can try moving the object and nothing happens on the screen. The menu functions still work. I can save my progress. But when I try to close down the application in order to re-launch it the little "X" in the upper right corner of the window does nothing when clicked. I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up Task Manager and end the CorelDRAW process in order to shut down the application. When I re-launch the application it has no memory of the previous session. In the File>Open menu the list of recently opened files is from 2 or more sessions back.
Yes!!
Same for me as well, I just didn't mention it.
I have to do the exact same as you Bobby. When I launch CorelDRAW again there are no recent previous files.
Instead of Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the Task Manager I just pinned it to the taskbar for easy access. That shows how often this happens as I use CorelDRAW everyday for work.
I have no solution but I wanted to report my observations over the last several months. My system is an i9, ASUS mainboard, 64GB of RAM, 8GB NVidia with a Samsung SSD. I religiously do my Windows updates by that I mean first thing everyday when I sit at the system and if I have a big break and then an afternoon session I do them again.
What I have noticed (by accident) is that when working my usual workflow the my desktop icons will lose the shortcut arrow on them, display an X instead of the arrow or nothing where the arrow should be.
I accidentally noticed that when this anomaly occurs my applications develop odd behavior, this may happen once a day or once a week however closing the apps and rebooting Windows resolves it, for many hours or even days. For me this odd behavior manifests itself in Draw when working with type and in Photo-PAINT when applying additional effects on top of nondestructive effects that have not been flattened.
I regularly simultaneously run, MS Access, Excell, Word, Email, PowerPoint, Draw, Photo-PAINT, PaintShop Pro, Affinity Photo, AfterShot Pro and sometimes PhotoZoom.
Have you contacted Corel Customer Service about this? There are ways to access the crash logs and they can help you through it to find a reason. Do you happen to have Dell's Backup and Recovery software installed and running? I know this has caused crashes for me with I/O dialogs before, perhaps it's related. Uninstalling their software solved the issue for me.
Yes I do however this has never been an issue with 2021.5 and I have other software such as AutoCAD with no issues. Thanks for that though.
I'd still suggest working with the CSS team to figure out the crash. It did take a bit of back and forth for a while to figure out the Dell Backup Software as an issue, but it was worth the effort to get it fixed. Crazy how everything is so interconnected these days!
I've had the new Corel 22 for about two weeks now. Week one was flawless, now it just randomly shuts off about 20 times a day. It's pretty much useless at this point. I can't trust doing any work with it so I had to revert back to an older version. Again, I see very little input from Corel on the issue as usual in their own user forum. I see not much has changed.
Have you run all Windows updates? I just went through a few weeks where many of my programs were acting weird but the last update fixed it.
Of course. Windows updates itself these days unless you turn updates off. I deactivated the welcome screen and things have improved(how shocking.......same with every version). Still manages to tank once in a while but I it seemed to be when I used the Open Recent Files option........which is also available through the welcome screen. I'll have to play around with that a bit more to see if I can localize it more.
Seems to happen when trying to print anything most often. I'm running a xerox c60 copier as my main, drivers all updated from manufacturers. Of course I noticed this new version still has all the flaws from my X18 version as well. Including the double "ff" text issue.........still can't type two f's in a row, it just gets repasted as a box. When performing print merges using an excel file the i and l data columns are treated as the same data so you can't use i or l simultaneously. Typical Corel.............no fixes for anything.
Shot in the dark...Is ALL THE COMPUTER updated?• Windows Updates?• Graphics Card Updates? (You will have better results with STUDIO DRIVERS instead of GAME READY.• All temporary files cleaned up?• etc...Maybe it's due to something else... but these are quite important...
Yup.......nothing really changed. I thought it was working better for a while but it's back to the same old routine, however it seems to be mostly when trying to print or preparing to print. No issues with any other software, just Corel.
If I were in your shoes, I would uninstall CorelDRAW and your Epson drivers and software COMPLETELY with an application like REVO Uninstaller. It does a clean up of the leftover registry files after the removal of the program.Of course, the tradional reboot. A clean up with CCleaner (or other). I discovered Privazer lately. Does a great job! Then reinstall the whole darn thing over...------------------------------------------Here's a much bigger task to do but anyway, here goes...Recently, my CorelDRAW gave me such a huge headache. It was to a point were it was very problematic, unsable. I need to run flawlessly. It's my main tool. I ended up deciding to reinstall WINDOWS completely. I know it's a HUGE step, but it helps SO MUCH! All programs work better now.
